EMP could leave '9 out of 10 Americans dead'
WorldNetDaily ^ | May 3, 2010 | Joseph Farah

There is renewed alarm about the possibility of an EMP attack – electromagnetic pulse – on the United States because of Iran's work on a multi-stage Space Launch Vehicle, according to a report from Joseph Farah's G2 Bulletin.

And experts forecast if such an attack were a success, it effectively could throw the U.S. back into an age of agriculture.

"Within a year of that attack, nine out of 10 Americans would be dead, because we can't support a population of the present size in urban centers and the like without electricity," said Frank Gaffney, president of the Center for Security Policy. "And that is exactly what I believe the Iranians are working towards."

A recent launch of an SLV by Iran has sparked renewed concern of an attack that could send an electromagnetic pulse powerful enough to wipe out computer controls for systems on which society has come to rely, officials say.

As the G2 Bulletin reported last week, Ronald Burgess, director of the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency, revealed that Iran successfully launched a multi-stage SLV, the Simorgh. The device ultimately could be equipped with a nuclear bomb, which the U.S. intelligence community assesses Iran is developing.

Officials also report Iran has been testing detonation of its nuclear-capable missiles by remote control while still in high-altitude flight...

Ironically, the people that the elitists would rather survive (because they’re more controllable) would not,

leaving the “ungovernable” folks.

Regardless of the EMP conversation, one thing we have to keep in mind - we are considered “ungovernable”, and that means that we cannot be allowed to remain free in society.

The ungovernable will have to be eliminated at some point in order to achieve the elitists’ utopian dream.

1. Adapt? Cities have a 3 day supply of food. Max. Not a lot of time to adapt when no one will know what happened. Is this a local power outage? Did the grid go down? It will be days before people even know we’ve been attacked.

2. It takes 3 EMP weapons detonated at altitude to blanket the US. It doesn’t take any precision, it doesn’t take a lot.
One over the East coast, one over the Midwest and one over the West will do it.

The only way to deal with this is to not let it happen.

You can’t. Nothing has ever been produced or distributed. None of us exist.

But these guys make it sound like one nuke going off at 50,000 feet would bring the country to it's knees.

Even typing the letters E-M-P just shorted out all of Boston.

Don't play with that EMP.

If you care, you could research water purification. It's a very important topic. There is a lot that people can do to maintain access to potable water. Filter systems, chemical purification, etc.

I live near a river. I would not normally drink from it, but if I had to, I know that I can make that water completely safe -- so I have a permanent supply of good drinking water.

You can't have said that. It's impossible.

“Most of the military equipment is EMP hardened. So they would be able to provide some emergency services right away. “

They don’t have the supplies to make it last. ie they can meet their own needs- Food. fuel. but ...

Service members will also be concerned about family members at home but can’t reach cuz the lines are dead at the family end.

The military will be our only non-self-served hope for social order. But they cannot be our grocery store.

For instance there is no way the soldiers posted at Fort Benning could serve the needs of MEtro Atlanta, or even Columbus.

After 4 days there’s no fresh water in Atlanta (save the creeks and rivers.) There’s no food after 10 days. There’s no fuel, no lights at night; no police or fire response. The lords of the flies will emerge rapidly in Atlanta and the US Army cannot stop it.

The military will likely welcome encountering local well-regulated militia who are maintaining local order and securing the peace.

Altitude is important. Given the right vehicle and the right device, the whole country could go in one shot.

So 3 missles are launched off container ships. One over the West coast, one over the East coast, one, from the Gulf over the Midwest. All three ships are then scuttled. Who do we nuke?

I sure hope so. One of my fears is that the Central Authority will make it a priority to eliminate local well-regulated militias. Not for any good reason, mind you. It just seems to be the way they think.

The effective "footprint" for EMP is actually quite small per device. The effect weakens as the device altitude is increased to widen the footprint diameter.

There is some very good science complied on this and gamma burst would be your immediate concern, followed by Iodone 131 isotope being absorbed by the thyroid.

It will take a lot of device detonantions to impact the entire country enough to cause "One Second After" level effects.

I absolutely loved that show.

I had high hopes for Jericho; it turned into total Hollywood tripe, though. It was an unrealistic portrayal of rural America; based on some knuckle-headed Hollywood writers vision of how "country" people should be. Totally unrealistic from the get-go. Then the bad guys were card board cut outs of what every leftist envisions Haliburton and Black Water Worldwide to be. I'm glad they canceled it.

Also, it is much easier to survive high temperatures without power and modern conveniences than it is subfreezing temperatures.

yes, and grounding the metal chassis of the vehicles will help a bit as well. (aluminized mylar ‘space blanket’ draped over the vehicle attached to a ground)

I wonder if running a ground wire form the attic shielding would improve its protective effects.

NOTHING works. No power, no communications, no cars, trucks, trains, planes, medical care, most farm equipment. Food in the midwest can't be harvested. If it was no way to move it to the rest of the country just one example. The US would be immediately catapulted into the 19th century, without the skills and tools to survive. In 1900 there were 76 million people in America, with 90% of them living on farms. The death toll would be horrendous.

might just be the much needed chlorine in our gene pool ... operation fresh start

Hand pumps for getting the gas out of the underground tanks do exist. I’ve seen them for sale at flea markets around here.
