10 Fast Food Items Worse For You Than The KFC Double Down

KFC's Double Down -- the bacon sandwich where two pieces of fried chicken replace the bread -- has been catching a lot of flack lately; much of it deserved. But a quick comparison of the nutritional (for want of a better word) info between the Double Down and some items on the menus at other fast food joints shows that the "warped creation of a syphilitic brain" might not be as bad for you as a salad at Wendy's.
According to KFC, the Original Recipe Double Down has 540 calories, 32g of fat and 1380mg of sodium.
With just a quick peek at the websites for Burger King, McDonald's and Wendy's, I had no trouble finding 10 items with higher calorie and fat (and in almost all cases, sodium) counts than the Double Down:

I tried the Double Down and thought it was pretty good, except for that weird-flavored mayo, which I had asked them to leave off, but they didn’t.
To: Fast Moving Angel
That "weird-flavored mayo" is rot-gut.

A rare prime rib with horseradish sauce and mashed potatoes sound healthy in comparison..That also sounds heavenly. I could dig some of that right now...

I dont care what if there is worse, I WANT A DOUBLE DOWN NOW!!!I tried the skinless grilled chicken version of that (460 calories and fat grams somewhere in the 20s) and thought it was pretty good.

The extra 8 months of life you get from eating right will be served in a nursing home. Have fun with your extra time...Obama's death panels will take away those 8 extra months. I'm going to get me a steak while I still have the time to enjoy it.

LOL! And when I saw “stuffed bologna”, I immediately thought of Washington ... :-)

Obama's death panels will take away those 8 extra months. Good point! We'll get the last laugh as tofu eating liberals realize they've missed out on all the good stuff for nothing.

If you get the grilled double down, the calories would be less and virtually no carbs.
Quite frankly, even with the original recipe, it is hardly more calories than a BK double cheeseburger.
To: USFRIENDINVICTORIA
To say nothing about carbs the big no-no under an Atkins diet. No bun = no carbs.
I was happy when it came out. Finally there was a consistent low carb item on the menu for fast food. Heck in the Atkins universe this is health food with a side of green beans.

Balogna...jumbo...my dad used to fry the thick slices, and it will curl up into a cup shape; and in another skillet he would scramble eggs; serve in the balogna cups sprinkled (heavily) with shredded cheddar cheese.
Diced, fried potatos w/sauteed onions on the side.
And all of it sprinkled with Franks’ Hot Sauce.
