10 Fast Food Items Worse For You Than The KFC Double Down
The Consumerist ^ | April 20, 2010 | Chris Morran

KFC's Double Down -- the bacon sandwich where two pieces of fried chicken replace the bread -- has been catching a lot of flack lately; much of it deserved. But a quick comparison of the nutritional (for want of a better word) info between the Double Down and some items on the menus at other fast food joints shows that the "warped creation of a syphilitic brain" might not be as bad for you as a salad at Wendy's.

According to KFC, the Original Recipe Double Down has 540 calories, 32g of fat and 1380mg of sodium.

With just a quick peek at the websites for Burger King, McDonald's and Wendy's, I had no trouble finding 10 items with higher calorie and fat (and in almost all cases, sodium) counts than the Double Down:

It's gotta be the dressing.

I just had a sandwich today that would have easily quadrupled the sodium content in the highest of those meals. I haven’t had that much salt ever. It’s like I took a shaker of salt and turned it up and swallowed the whole thing. I drank half a liter of water.

Oh, here’s the kicker. I’m currently in Belgium. You know, the place the US under Obama aspires to be.

The Onion joked about unhealthy food items and created the KFC Nothin But The Skin Sanwich. I know I would eat one of those.

To say nothing about carbs — the big no-no under an Atkins diet. No bun = no carbs.

I don’t care what if there is worse, I WANT A DOUBLE DOWN NOW!!!

They closed one KFC in the next town over and built a brand new one up the street.
It doubled as an A&W burger joint.
It lasted less than a year and closed.

Now there is NO KFC anywhere around here.
Just when they introduce this new “Killer” product!
I am Pissed.
ARGH!!!
