Poll: Most Want GOP to Keep Fighting on Health Bill
CBS ^
Posted on March 24, 2010 10:25:23 PM PDT by Chet 99
A CBS News poll released Wednesday finds that nearly two in three Americans want Republicans in Congress to continue to challenge parts of the health care reform bill. The Senate version of the legislation was passed by the House Sunday night, and President Obama signed it into law on Tuesday. The House also passed a separate reconciliation bill, which cannot be filibustered, that is now being debated in the Senate. That bill would make changes to the bill already signed into law.
Senate Republicans are now challenging whether the bill is truly a budget reconciliation bill (which is what makes it filibuster-proof) and inserting amendments designed to slow down passage. Republican attorneys general are also planning to challenge the constitutionality of the law.
The poll finds that 62 percent want Congressional Republicans to keep challenging the bill, while 33 percent say they should not do so. Nearly nine in ten Republicans and two in three independents want the GOP to keep challenging. Even 41 percent of Democrats support continued challenges.

New Bill Requires State Attorney General To Sue The Federal Government If Health Care “Reform” Is Implemented
Idahos governor C. L. Otter has signed a bill which nullifies any health care legislation passed by Congress and requires that states attorney general to file a lawsuit against the federal government if such legislation were to be imposed.
The Idaho Health Freedom Act is the second bill of its type, following on the heels of a similar bill passed in Virginia on March 5. That states attorney general has said that he will sue the federal government if a health care reform bill is passed by the U.S. Congress.
According to Governor Otter, the Idaho Health Freedom Act will ensure that the citizens of our state wont be subject to another federal mandate or turn over another part of their life to government control.
According to The Idaho Statesman, State lawmakers opted for a bill rather than a resolution to give the measure greater weight and to help Idahos standing in court if a federal mandate to buy insurance becomes law.

States’ Rights: Idaho requires its attorney general to sue the feds if ObamaCare passes while Virginia, the cradle of liberty, heads the line of states in front of the federal courtroom. Somewhere Patrick Henry is smiling.
As the second coming of King George III seeks to impose the leftist mandate of national health insurance on the unwilling American people, the states are once again in revolt. This time they’re unwilling to be the colonies of an imperial federal government determined to spend and tax us into bankruptcy while treating the Constitution as if it were bird cage liner.
Is this what the Founding Fathers had in mind when they risked being hanged by the British crown because they said we shouldn’t be taxed without representation? Well, we have representation, and they care not about the people they represent. We can now pass laws by not voting on them, almost as if by imperial decree. We have become the Venezuela of Hugo Chavez.
Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter signing into law a measure requiring the state attorney general to sue the federal government if residents are forced to buy health insurance.
“The ivory tower folks will tell you, ‘No, they’re not going anywhere,’” Otter told reporters. “But I’ll tell you what, you got 36 states; that’s a critical mass. That’s a constitutional mass.” Otter shares the belief that nowhere in the U.S. Constitution is a mandate to buy health insurance or anything else. Otter warned House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in December that Idaho was considering such litigation. They yawned.
“What the Idaho Health Freedom Act says is that the citizens of our state won’t be subject to another federal mandate or turn over another part of their life to government control,” Otter proclaimed.

“There’s basically a three-front fight going on right now — one being the legal, one being the electoral, and one being the legislative,” he explains.”

Chad Groening - OneNewsNow - 3/25/2010 5:20:00 AM
SNIPPET: “Yet another Christian law firm is preparing to possibly file a federal lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the healthcare bill signed by President Obama on Tuesday.

Cantor: Threats? This. Is. Congress!
by Daniel Foster
SNIPPET: It is reckless to use these incidents as a media vehicle for political gains, Cantor said, saying that he has consistently chosen not to publicize the volume of threats he routinely receives by e-mail many because he is Jewish and revealing that a bullet was recently fired into his offices.

MIKE PENCE: This Law Will Not Stand
Wall Street Journal ^ | 3/25/10 | MIKE PENCE

In the dead of night on Sunday, Democrats rammed their health-care overhaul through Congress. Some say we made history. I say we broke with history, turning our back on this country’s finest traditions of limited government, personal responsibility, and the consent of the governed.
Republicans remain committed to reforming health care in a way that honors these values. For the past year we have suggested ways to fix the system by reducing costsspecifically through instituting tort reform and by allowing Americans to purchase insurance across state lines.
As Washington Democrats embark on their attempt to sell government-run health care, they are in for a rude awakening. A few more speeches about the same bad law will not change any minds. The American people don’t want a government takeover of health care and House Republicans will work every day to repeal this law and start over.
If we repeal ObamaCare, we can start over with common-sense market solutions to lower the cost of health insurance.

“The Last Line of Defense between ObamaCare and Kansans”
By Milton R. Wolf, MD
SNIPPET: “I am Milton Wolf. After this last week, you probably know me as the doctor who is Barack Obama’s cousin.
Like millions of other Americans, I watched with bafflement and frustration as Congress wrestled with the onerous task of reforming our health care system. After studying both the House and Senate’s health care plans, and a lot of sleepless nights, I knew I had to take a stand for my patients, my profession, my state, and my country. I made the decision to “go public” with my opposition to “ObamaCare.”
I wish my cousin well, but my oath is to my patients.
What began as a humble blog led to a Washington Times op-ed. Then a massive media storm erupted. Morning news with a visit to the Curvy Couch, radio interviews, ruffled feathers at Media Matters & Democratic Underground, another op-ed, an army of Davids carrying my questions to their representatives in Congress, Hannity, more FOX & Friends, radio, and more print and internet opinions than I could ever read. Last Saturday, it all culminated in an address to thirty thousand patriots who set their lives aside long enough to rush to the Capitol and try one more time to be heard by their elected leaders in Washington.
My message is simple: Patients will suffer under ObamaCare.”
