Enough Already! Why Palin is far Superior to "the Others."
Feb. 19, 2010 | vanity

Posted on 02/20/2010 8:24:36 PM PST by CondoleezzaProtege

Governor Sarah Palin has done MUCH more for the conservative cause and this country as a whole, even WITHOUT a title and in far less time.

1) Palin, not Scott Brown, is most responsible for the reason why healthcare reform is in jeopardy. (Remember "Death Panels?") --> Mitt Romney instituted socialized medicine in his state!

2) Palin publicly challenged the science of global warming before it became "cool" to do so. --> Newt Gingrich and Tim Pawlenty are "greenies," though they are probably flip flopping on this now.

4) Palin has been a vocal advocate for the unborn far more than any other Republican, before and after she rose to national prominence. She doesn't just "talk" during speeches or "vote" whenever a bill comes up. Palin walks the walk. Her social values put her in the good graces of most Americans, INCLUDING minority and immigrant Americans as well.

4) Palin endorsed underdog Doug Hoffman in NY-23 and allied herself with the Tea Party movement, regardless of the "establishment fallout" that she'd be met with. --> Were John Thune or Mike Pence as bold and aggressive in their willingness to challenge the GOP establishment, before it became cool? No, they all seemed quite "muted" until Palin blazed the trail first. Or maybe it's because, they're PART of the establishment.

Palin has shown time and time again, she's about the people--not about career politics and saving her political skin.

5) Palin has incredibly media savvy, and this will serve her well should she ever become President. She will not let the media control and manipulate her agenda, but will instead communicate directly to the people.

6) Palin's support for our men and women in uniform is not phony -- but genuine and close to her heart. Her own son is honorably serving in the military. HARDLY (if ANY) of our representatives in Congress have any children who serve! Not only that, I trust Palin to take a bullet for a fellow American before any of the other "men" in our government would. Any day.

7) Palin takes on her own worst enemies without losing her integrity or class. She's even willing to challenge the greater culture at large. Even Hollywood feels threatened by her.

8) Palin is unabashed about her faith in Jesus Christ and her Biblical worldview.

9) PALIN has the boldness to directly call out Obama for his lies AND his cronies (like Rahm) for their incompetence and classlessness. NO OTHER REPUBLICAN has been as blunt, up front, and truthful as she has regarding the nature of Obama and his agenda!

10) I'm leaving out many other examples.

Point blank, Governor Palin has proven her leadership, while the others in the running have had MORE time and actual power to do so, but have little to show for it.

Sounds like Palin is backing the wrong horse, yet again.

Dan Mielke: "I guess her excuse was she didn’t like my beard."

If you were a voter who would you vote for?

Dan Mielke?

Sean Duffy?

Mielke ran in 08 against Obey getting a respectable result as a Republican, and would run as a Republican in the July 13th Republican primary.

He lost by 22 points, I don't think that I would back him for a rematch either.

I'm with you on every point (including the ones you didn't post). The simple fact is, Palin critics on the right are failing to acknowledge Sarah Palin for all the good she's done, and for the remarkable, and historic force for conservatism that she is.

There isn't a single other Republican, elected or not, who can draw a bigger crowd, or generate as much enthusiasm for our cause, as she can. This is an indisputable fact.

That fact translates to support, which translates to votes. We can look at all the un-official polls we want, and try to divine the 2012 race in all sort of various ways, but simply stepping back and observing the obvious is probably the surest indicator of what and who the American people want.

Using reality as our guide, there is just no question who the American people have chosen to be the 45th president of the United States.

I have absolutely no idea what motivates so-called conservatives to opposes Governor Palin, or to attack her, outright. She clearly stands for all of our traditional American principles - the very principles that have stood the test of time, and which made America the greatest nation the world has ever known. The same principles that we conservatives are trying to conserve.

She has also proven her capabilities and fitness for office with actual deeds. Her track record in public life is one of real accomplishment - all of it toward the purpose of doing what's best for those who trusted her to represent them.

Sarah Palin simply frightens some people because she's so real, and so clearly focused in the right direction. That she frightens the left, is entirely understandable. She will certainly do more to roll back their destructive Marxist agenda than perhaps any other contender for the presidency.

But why she frightens some so-called conservatives, is puzzling. Frankly, I'm suspicious of anyone on our side who expresses disdain for her.

Great Thread!!!!

I’m 57 Years old. I have been conservative since I made the mistake of voting for Jimmy Carter, He was supposed to be a Born Again Christian. He never looked to the Bible. He was pro-abortion. His policies were anti-Israel and also anti-American. We the people were to blame for the bad economy. He didn’t have the guts to go get our hostages out of Iran and he is the reason the people of Iran are still in bondage.

I will say, “right now is the worst economy in my life time”, So Jimmy Carter is now off the hook.

Then came President Reagan... What a great man! The best President since Abe Lincoln.

Reagan had to fight the press, but nothing like what Sarah Palin has had to put up with.

There is not a man out there that says it like it is like Palin.

In the Bible God used Esther, a women, to save Israel.

The is not a Man out there in the Republican Party that Is MORE BOLD, MORE OF A LEADER and MORE OF A MAN ... then our SARAH.

In her time She is the most hated Republican which she also has in common with President Reagan.

When I say I love Sarah Palin I mean I love her America as I loved Reagan’s America.

I tell you this, there are a lot of Americans that would go to hell and back for her. I hope to live long enough to call her Commander in Chief.

The straw Poll at the GOP precinct caucus I went to last Saturday had Palin as the far away leader, with Romney and Huckabee tied for a distant second place, and they were followed by a number of other candidates, some familiar and some I don’t know. And contrary to the CPAC poll Ron Paul was on the bottom with only 2 votes. And I would not worry about Romney and Huckabee being second. This far out its all about name recognition. New names could rise to the surface as we get into the debates.

Because of CPAC poll of 2,985 half wits, Gibbs, lame-media and Libs will now all start attacking the big front runners, Mitt Romney and Ron Paul. ***sarc !!! HA,HA,HA

They will still be attacking the front runner, Sarah Palin!!

You are so right!

One of the reasons it would be nice to elect Sarah in 2012 is we really need someone like her that has the energy to really cut the big government down to small government. (Someone Younger!!!)

I think we will have both houses of congress with 60+ Senators.

The only one I trust to really do it would be Sarah!

By the way a great running mate would be Paul Ryan of Wiscosin!!

PALIN/RYAN would be unbeatable!!!

Wouldn’t an endorsement by the “constitution” party be kinda like a dem getting an endorsement from the green party? They’re pretty out of touch and I don’t think I’d consider their endorsement a plus...in fact, I’d be more inclined to choose someone else. But how many threads are you going to post this on? Maybe you could at least limit it to once a day. You don’t like her because she’s endorsing a candidate you don’t want. Got it. She’s not conservative enough because she’s not backing the candidate you want. Got it. Can we now have a 24 hour period where we aren’t reading a copy/paste from the other threads you’ve posted this on?

FTR, she didn't seem to have an objection to global warming claims here:

"The Center for Biological Diversity, an environmental group, has argued that global warming and the reduction of polar ice severely threatens the bears’ habitat and their existence. In fact, there is insufficient evidence that polar bears are in danger of becoming extinct within the foreseeable future — the trigger for protection under the Endangered Species Act. And there is no evidence that polar bears are being mismanaged through existing international agreements and the federal Marine Mammal Protection Act. "

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/05/opinion/05palin.html?_r=1

Or here:

"Dear Alaskan,

Alaska’s climate is warming. While there have been warming and cooling trends before, climatologists tell us that the current rate of warming is unprecedented within the time of human civilization. Many experts predict that Alaska, along with our northern latitude neighbors, will warm at a faster pace than any other areas, and the warming will continue for decades.

We are faced with significant questions: How fast will the climate warm? How warm will it get? What effects will the warming have? Is there anything we can do to slow the increase or the extent of the warming? Realizing that we can’t stop the warming, what can we do to adapt? And, what role should state government play in all of this? To get the ball rolling, I signed Administrative Order 238 in September 2007, which directs a team of my cabinet members to prepare an Alaska Climate Change Strategy for my consideration. The strategy is to serve as a guide for a thoughtful, practical, timely, state of Alaska response to climate change. It is to identify priorities needing immediate attention along with longer-term steps we can take as a state to best serve all Alaskans and to do our part in the global response to this global phenomenon.

My team, the Climate Change Sub-Cabinet, is giving immediate attention to our communities most at risk from coastal erosion and flooding. Although many of our coastal and river communities have flooded in the past, they have become more vulnerable as permafrost and shore ice that once protected their shores has been lost to warming temperatures.

The Climate Change Sub-Cabinet convened a workgroup comprised of federal, state and local representatives and developed a list of actions to be taken over the next 18 months to protect our most at-risk communities. These actions included constructing additional flood protection structures in Kivalina and Unalakleet, and an evacuation road and shelter for Newtok, a village that can’t be protected and must be moved. Funding for these projects is included in the state’s fiscal year 2009 budget. We expect to see progress starting this summer."

Very fine post. And a very comprehensive list of ther attributes. Permit me to add two of my own:

1)Extraordinary good judgment and timing, especially where public affairs are involved-

(example:Her resignation last summer, which was criticized by many, but which Palin knew was essential if she was to have an impact on crucial national issues, notably health care. It came as Obamacare was rounding the curve and was supposed to be on the President’s desk for signature before Labor Day. Less than 2 weeks after her resignation came the Facebook posting on “death panels” and the freight train that was Obamacare jumped the tracks. She waited until the opportune time, stepped in and killed it.) And there are other examples, including her now vindicated decision to avoid the Fiasco that was CPAC and her choice of the Tea Party instead. Her decision to become a FOX news contributor, bit not to get her own chow.

2)Her vote getting ability-

Part of her voter appeal can be measured in the huge crowds she draws and FACEBOOK postings. But she has won several elections both at the municipal level and at the state level, by large margins and often against steep odds. She beat an incumbent governor, Frank Murkowski (who had been elected statewide to the U.S. Senate three times) in the GOP primary by over 30 points. She then easliy dispatched a popular former two term Democrat governor, Tony Knowles, in the general election by 8 points, all in 2006, which was a huge year for the Democrats nationwide. (Pawlenty barely retained his seat; Romney and Huckabee, facing likely defeat, abandoned theirs.) Between them, Murkowski and Knowles had won statewide SIX times and Sarah Palin beat the stuffing out of both of them. She is a proven vote winner and against long odds. She CAN win.
