Set in New York City, "Day Eight" unfolds amidst the shadows of the Statue of Liberty and the United Nations as President Allison Taylor (Jones), alongside new chief of staff ROB WEISS (Chris Diamantopoulos), negotiates international security with OMAR HASSAN (Anil Kapoor), a determined Middle Eastern leader visiting the U.S. on a peacemaking mission. As the new day begins, an upgraded CTU operates under the command of M.B.A.-schooled, razor-sharp head honcho BRIAN HASTINGS (Mykelti Williamson), who supervises quirky CHLOE O'BRIAN (Mary Lynn Rajskub), expert data analyst DANA WALSH (Katee Sackhoff) and systems analyst ARLO GLASS (John Boyd).

COLE ORTIZ (Freddie Prinze Jr.), an ex-Marine who wants to follow in Bauer's footsteps, leads field operations while Agent RENEE WALKER (Annie Wersching) returns with an agenda of her own. What you really want to know is how come it took Jack longer to drive from CTU to where she was, than it took to drive from where she was to CTU?

Yeah, really! Jack was in the car this whole episode. Slacker. Probably stops at yellows.

Up until last night, this season just wasn’t doing it for me. Once, I fell asleep. Then I found myself recording it a couple of times...and forgetting to watch until just before the next episode.

But tonight it got back on track. That was the best plot development episode we’ve seen in a long time. Jack is back!

I fired Openheimer, and myself.what remains is in Vanguard...but everyone’s IRA’s took a hit, and mine was “diversified” and all the crap they told us.

Vanguard was good throughout, but the market still hit it hard. this fiasco just took out a lot..people who had ‘followed all the rules”...but when you have Morons running the country there is no way for anyone to counter the Freddie/Fannie blow out.

I watch this on Hulu and never get to comment along with you all. I caught myself yelling at my computer several times. I’m beginning to hate the word ‘perimeter’. There is no such thing on this show! How many times can CTU/those working with CTU screw up and still expect to save the day? 23?

Not a bad ending tonight. I’m actually looking forward to seeing how this plays out next week.

That velvet gloved hand of Communism has always extended to their mass of mindless human resources some alluring promise of glorious entitlement and warmth of security. Then soon after the ceremony of consummation, steely cold hands emerge...one to rock the cradle...as the other begins digging the common grave.

Has treason become the template for contemporary politics in both major political parties? Previous 24 threads moved as fast as the action on the program. It was difficult to post, watch the program, and keep up on other posts.

This season’s 24 is sluggish in comparison.
