"24" Themed Countdown Clock (1 Minute)
Set in New York City, "Day Eight" unfolds amidst the shadows of the Statue of Liberty and the United Nations as President Allison Taylor (Jones), alongside new chief of staff ROB WEISS (Chris Diamantopoulos), negotiates international security with OMAR HASSAN (Anil Kapoor), a determined Middle Eastern leader visiting the U.S. on a peacemaking mission. As the new day begins, an upgraded CTU operates under the command of M.B.A.-schooled, razor-sharp head honcho BRIAN HASTINGS (Mykelti Williamson), who supervises quirky CHLOE O'BRIAN (Mary Lynn Rajskub), expert data analyst DANA WALSH (Katee Sackhoff) and systems analyst ARLO GLASS (John Boyd).
COLE ORTIZ (Freddie Prinze Jr.), an ex-Marine who wants to follow in Bauer's footsteps, leads field operations while Agent RENEE WALKER (Annie Wersching) returns with an agenda of her own. Created by Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran, 24 is a production of 20th Century Fox Television and Imagine Television in association with Teakwood Lane Productions.

No, it didn’t. They managed to come up with the one way to blow up CTU that didn’t kill Dana and Hastings. Unless one of them has a pacemaker or something.
Why couldn’t Hastings hit the emergency shut-off?

I presume they rigged it to count down when she opened the door. Standard procedure should have told her to stay in the car, with the engine running, and the door closed, until the bomb squad could figure out if there was a seat trigger.
Of course, she shouldn’t have been anywhere near the door.

What you really want to know is how come it took Jack longer to drive from CTU to where she was, than it took to drive from where she was to CTU? I know, he drove to the hotel first, but that took them the better part of the show, and it only took Taran a few minutes to get to the secret lair from the hotel (remember, they were still looking at the empty car in the tunnel and he was already walking in the bank).
But then it only took her 5 minutes to drive from the bank back to CTU. Which means she must have been heading the right way all along, even before Chloe told her where to go.
