"24" Themed Countdown Clock (1 Minute)
Set in New York City, "Day Eight" unfolds amidst the shadows of the Statue of Liberty and the United Nations as President Allison Taylor (Jones), alongside new chief of staff ROB WEISS (Chris Diamantopoulos), negotiates international security with OMAR HASSAN (Anil Kapoor), a determined Middle Eastern leader visiting the U.S. on a peacemaking mission. As the new day begins, an upgraded CTU operates under the command of M.B.A.-schooled, razor-sharp head honcho BRIAN HASTINGS (Mykelti Williamson), who supervises quirky CHLOE O'BRIAN (Mary Lynn Rajskub), expert data analyst DANA WALSH (Katee Sackhoff) and systems analyst ARLO GLASS (John Boyd).
COLE ORTIZ (Freddie Prinze Jr.), an ex-Marine who wants to follow in Bauer's footsteps, leads field operations while Agent RENEE WALKER (Annie Wersching) returns with an agenda of her own. Created by Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran, 24 is a production of 20th Century Fox Television and Imagine Television in association with Teakwood Lane Productions.

Does anyone know if they film the entire season before the first segment airs? Or are they still in production?
No, they only film part and continue filming during the series/season. A few weeks ago production had to be postponed when Kiefer had a cycst on his kidney. Also, they are continuing to write as the series is in progress.

There were some rumors that NBC talked to Fox about acquiring 24. It seems they could not agree on terms.
[NBC is the one who dropped JAG after a year. JAG was a big success for CBS, and its spin-off NCIS turned out to be the most watched series on TV. The last major ‘good’ decision NBC made was to not cancel Chuck mid-way through its first season.]

i’m still not sure why they had Jack disarming a bomb. They knew there was a bomb there for over an hour — doesn’t CTU have any actual bomb experts?
I’m also not sure how they could jamb the remote detonator that was 1 foot from the bomb, but not the one that was across the street.
It’s 3AM, and I’m pretty tired.
