QUANTICO, Va. Retired Admiral and former U.S. Sen. Jeremiah Denton had some tough words in the mess hall of the National Museum of the Marine Corps, packed with fellow servicemen, including some who spent time with him as a prisoner of war in the Hanoi Hilton.
In an emotional speech last night about his newly updated classic work, "When Hell Was in Session," Denton said he feared the imminent death of the United States of America due to immorality, lack of patriotism and lack of appreciation for the unique form of government bestowed by the country's founders.

Wow is he ever right.
He nails it, IMO. A great American patriot and hero!
Because he made himself the poster child for the POWs.
JC Watts spoke at our church this weekend, and said — America is a great nation, but she’s not great enough to shake her fist in the face of God and get away with it.
We’ll either right the ship, or He’ll right it for us.

Yes. First we need to turn from the popular media...especially tv and the movies, which have done so much over the last fifty years to coarsen American culture.
Turn the tube off, contact the advertisers, tell them what you are doing. Boycott Hollywood. These people need to be made to understand that pornography is not acceptable.
It all starts with we individuals making our own decisions.
We thought the same things back in the 60's and early 70's. (Isn't the world always going to hell when we think about it?)
Been there, done that already. Almost couldn't get the old tube to work to watch some Olympics the other day.
Denton was my Senator, back in the day, still a good man. I had wondered what ever happened to him.
This is not simply hyperbole for the sake of making some exciting rhetoric on a FReeper thread, but it's the facts of the matter -- Islam will be running this country in short order, unless we make it totally illegal to practice and even be here in this country.
See the following from another post of mine...
That evil and oppressive governmental idealogy of Islam and the way of implementing it by Sharia law is already making inroads right here in this country the good ole USA. Were about to see a takeover of the U.S. by the evil and oppressive idealogy of the government of Islam (that is aiming for world-wide conquest and has stated that the U.S. is *on its list* to take over...)
And for those people who need some additional facts about what the evil and oppressive governmental idealogy of Islam is doing, look at some of the following.
Theres no question about it... the enemy is *Islam* itself and the evil and oppressive and false idealogy that it perpetrates. Some say the problem is fascism (instead of the basic oppressive governmental idealogy of Islam, itself). But, that is to engage in political correctness and nothing more... and sidetracks people from the *true enemy* in this war.
In one generation well see, right here in the United States that Islam is the enemy and not fascism...

This is the allowance of false gods to take over this nation because of the ignorance of the people of the land in regards to the true God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob...
And so, we see that were going to have the false god of Islam ruling over the USA and running the USA in just one generation from now.
Another brave and patriotic citizen in Admiral Denton's age group has just written a book entitled, "The Destruction of the Great American Dream," in which he expresses grave concerns about what is happening to America. He also outlines what he calls the "philosophical foundation of our government & the founders principles in a nutshell . . . ." Read about it at
JC Watts is exactly right, if we don’t start moving back to the constitution and its founders ideas, if we don’t start coming back to our Christian values and purge the slime thats everywhere, GOD WILL PUNISH US. The people that try in their everday lives will be spared but, those lacking morals will not be so lucky.
We thought the same things back in the 60’s and early 70’s. (Isn’t the world always going to hell when we think about it?)
Actually, yes the world is always going to hell. That seems to be the way it is designed. However the process ongoing STARTED in the 60’s and is apparently right on schedule so...what? What is your point? Ignore it? It’s not REAL, it’s just an effect? What?
He’s right. God bless this man.
JC is right too! I think it is coming already. Look at all the disasters happening in our ONE WORLD.
Watts’ message was primarily hopeful. It is important to know that the ship will be righted one way or another. The American people seem to be waking up, and Christians seem to be waking up.

Yes, we're always on the road to hell. You know you've arrived at the gates of hell when nobody heeds the call to hit the brakes by becoming moral and patriotic.
Because McCain was willing to sell out his country and the Republican party. Both are popular with the MSM.
Yup. And every time things got better, or the current state of affairs because “normal,” we got out a shovel and started digging...
In the 1960’s and 1970s I biked around my neighborhood (in Boca Raton I even biked downtown...), walked to the pool, played in the woods, and took my allowance to the 7-11 for Icees and comic books. My wife lived in a similar fashion - but more so.
IN the 2000’s we can’t let our children out of our sight, except after dropping them off at school or at trusted neighbors’ homes.
Yeah. Things are just fine...
I was responding to Retired Admiral and former U.S. Sen. Jeremiah Denton’s statement. He was saying things are going to hell in our country now, I was saying we have said that
at most points in our country’s history with very few years as exceptions.
