The New year is upon us. What is everyone doing? It is going to get icey here in Pittsburgh, so I am hunkering down with some Fosters Lager and Mannix. If you are going out, be careful. The drunks are out in force.

LOL! I do them every year for good luck on New Years Day because I’m afraid if I don’t things could get really bad. Then we do ham and collards with corn bread, too
Tonight we are having king crab legs and champagne and praying nobody starts shooting their guns off at midnight.
(dummies should not own guns)
Happy New Year from a noob!

Dittoes on The Thin Man. There's no better way to bring in the New Year than a Thin Man marathon. With a few shakers of martinis, of course.

Our cable company has RTN (the logo on the screen says RTV, though) Retro Television Network and they show a lot of those vintage PI shows: Magnum, Simon & Simon, Adam 12, Rockford, Kojak, It Takes a Thief, Peter Gunn, etc. We also get Mission Impossible but I think that’s on another channel.

We’re supposed to eat them at midnight, but I made such a nice batch, that I ate them all for a late dinner. Oh well. Somewhere it’s midnight, right?

I made them the easy way, with canned black eyed peas, added some chipotle hot sauce and used quinoa instead of rice. Delish and looks nice in a flat bowl!

I dated a gal 40 years ago...a total beauty. We drifted apart before I ever got any connubial action (damn....).
....Ran into her a few years later and found that she'd boinked Peter Lupus shortly after his Playgirl photo spread.
