The New year is upon us. What is everyone doing? It is going to get icey here in Pittsburgh, so I am hunkering down with some Fosters Lager and Mannix. If you are going out, be careful. The drunks are out in force.

I’m staying in tonight for the first time! I met my honey at a party at the stroke of Midnight last New Years Eve (I saw him at 7, 6 , 5, I decided to kiss him at 4, 3, 2, and I went for it at 1! We have been happily together ever since. Happy New Year to all!!

My colon is going bad and I just got out of the hospital. Got a prescription for MS Contin. 60mg Morphine pills. I’ll pop a few and have my own little private party that I wont remember tomorrow. :-)

I’m going to sit outside and watch my neighbors shoot fireworks( I love the smell of gunpowder!), with my great-niece who is here for the holidays and her Maltese puppy and my Maltepoo, with the main theme from SW playing LOUD.
That’s how I start a new year- oh, and Captain Morgan and chocolate-lol.

Just finished some New Years Eve Monte Cristo sandwiches I fried up in my new deep frier, along with a couple of Sam Adams. Later on I’ll switch over to “Crown Jewels”, made with my Christmas Crown Royal. Y’all have fun!

Tonight’s the first time both of my daughters won’t be with me to ring in the new year. One just moved to a new apartment and is trying to get the old place cleared by the end of today, plus she has to go to work for a couple hours. It’s making me a little sad. We normally do a family oriented game night, with champagne and fireworks at midnight.

As an aside, for anyone who gets Fox Business Channel, John Stossel is doing a special on Atlas Shrugged this evening. It promises to be really good. I think it will air on Fox News tomorrow some time, if you don’t get FBC.

I’m tempted to say that is an example of pussy paranoia but I might be misunderstood and get zotted. ;0)

We carried in our favorite pizza and will be lights out early so we can get to Our New Year's tradition. Which is to drive 80 miles on Jan 1 and go to a discount book store that has every book half price.
This is already a bargain store and people, including us, walk out with armloads of books. You can get 6 mos worth of reading for a song, which is fine because they do it again on July 4th. And they have great selection, comic books, war stories, coffee table books, gardening, geography, cookbooks, every catagory, tons of books.
A great day to look forward to.
I prefer library books mostly, but I still wind up buying books to read and then share and many for gifts.

New Year's Eve is amature night. We stay home, don't let our 18 year old out on the roads, eat junk food, play games & watch TV. . .
before our 9 year old could tell time, we would celebrate the New Year with New York (which was 9PM our time) and hit the sack by 9:30. Now that he knows the difference between 9PM and midnight we are stuck. :)
