Why do we have stupid threads like this?

The hat is NOT a castro hat, it is just a gree hat...I thought it was an Army hat from Ft. Hood, and I still think it might be....

I’m only saying that...
1) It is a very tacky hat. Palin has usually dressed well but this hat is awful. Can’t even get the hat to match color of her outfit. The only people I know who wear these type of hats are teenage girls. Palin wearing this hat is like Obama wearing his baseball cap on backwards (which he did). It looks ridiculous.
2) It is called the Castro Cap by everyone.
I made this thread because I wasn’t sure what type of hat she was wearing. Apparently my instincts were right, it is the *typical* Castro Cap worn by teenage girls. Ugh.
(Nowhere did I say or imply Palin was Castro, some of the sarcasm is over the top. I’m just curious and critical of her hat. If people are this sensitive about someone critical about Palin’s hat, it is going to be a torturous campaign for some people.)

Google “castro hat” and look at what you find. It isn’t an army cap in the slightest except for its color. Definitely a castro hat. Palin probably doesn’t know it which is even funnier. She probably thought it just looked cute.

I stand corrected on the source of the hat, but man she looks great in it, don’t she....she is just a beautiful lady and what’s wrong with that.....

Wish I had time to dig out my old AF pics as the hats we wore were much closer in line with Fidel's (absent the little air vent holes) than Sarah's.

I thought I’d get a few replies on this thread. But the excuses people are making for Palin’s poor choice of a hat is kinda funny especially it being in the middle of the night. Hey, I’m sure Reagan also wore a bad hat once.
(I’ve got to go to work, so no more comments from me in case anyone expecting an immediate response. IF there is anything else that this hat might be other than a Castro Hat, please tell me.)

Be more honest by not putting in a black and white photo of Castro. The black and white image hides that the color is exactly the same (which is a dead giveaway that it is a Castro hat).
Castro wore a “Ridgeway” hat. It was US Army issue in the 50’s and early 60’s. There are pictures with Elvis wearing one on a record album. They blocked the hat in the 60’s to make it stiff. Palin is wearing a style hat made famous by Gen. Ridgeway, Commander of troops in Korea.
