She is wearing a Castro hat because her Mao hat was at the cleaners?

Not to nit-pick, but Palin’s hat is very different. It is a knit cap with a bill. Castro’s hat is a cloth hat with a hatband and a bill. Other than color, and the fact that they both have a bill, they are not similar at all in construction or materials.

It’s a kind of funky hat, but it is not a Castro hat. I doubt Fidel has much cause to wear knit caps down in Cuba.

And, BTW, Palin looks absolutely fabulous!

Being a 66 year young Seasoned Citizen (and a Nam Vet who spent 8 years in the USAF) and hardly a fashion guru or in the know what is or is not "in" (for men, much less women) I could not disagree more on either count.

My initial reaction upon seeing that pic yesterday was man, Sarah could look good in a Burqa and that the hat was "cute."

Also as someone who wore fatigues (while working on planes) back in the 60's when Fidel first became a serious threat (I was in Basic Training when the Cuban Blockade was happening), I never thought there was even a close resemblance and in fact we AF types had and wore fatigue hats which looked similar to Sarah's.

Methinks this is muchado about nuttin!

It’s not a Castro hat, but a retro-style cap of a type that was popular in the late 60s-early 70s. Wait around long enough and everything comes back in fashion.

You missed the 60’s “Mod” styles, I see.

It’s a fatigue cap. It’s worn my the military all over the world. personally it is my guess Castro is emulating American military uniforms.

Or maybe she’s wearing it to keep away the radio waves being aimed at her by lefty loons..

Ooh. Can't wait for that. Peggy Lipton was a major crush back in the day.
