Why Does Every Thread (apparently) Start with an ant-Romney Ad? (a vanity post, but sincere)
clique | clique

Posted on 12/01/2009 8:38:13 AM PST by Clique

Let me be clear: I don't like Romney. I wouldn't vote for Romney. I hope he never runs for President, and if he tries, I hope he never gets the nomination. In other words -- I don't like Romney!

However, -- I am tired of having to scroll past an anti-Romney ad as the #1 entry on every article lately.

Why does every post start with an anti-Romney ad? As far as I know, he isn't even running for anything right now.

In fact, why should every article begin with an anti-Anyone ad?

I've always considered most Freepers to be very objective and fair-minded.

Has FreeRepublic turned into a one-trick pony? (DestroyRomneyDestroyRomneyDestroyRomney...etc.)

It has become quite tiresome. Could someone please tell me why FreeRepublic is doing this?

Jim Robinson, are you aware that this is happening?

Thank you.

Can’t say I’m in favor of the government forcing residents to buy health insurance, but to call it “socialist/socialized” is lazy.

Socialism is when the government makes decisions for the people that they have no business making.

"...if Romney were pointed in the correct direction he could get good things done..."

Would be great in a Cabinet post - I just don't want him setting policy (esp. not HHS).

Then why, as a resident of MA, am I still paying for private health insurance?

Because you make so much money in your paychecks from the Mitt Romney campaign that you don't qualify for the 'free' health care.

Instead, you are mandated to buy insurance. Which, I'm sure you'll defend with some collectivist straw man argument just like the rest of the Romney apologists.

Oh, poor baby - poor baby so tired. Hear this sport - a lot of conservatives on this site are VERY tired of RINOS trying to peddle new and/or used RINO candidates around here. Not to mention many other on this site who perhaps are unaware of Slick Romney's past positions on big issues, including but not limited to guns, legalized mass infanticide, health care and religion in schools and elswhere. So, since you apparently love Slick Romney so much, why not hang out on a RINO site, instead of trying to trash the conservatives on this site, most of whom have had it with Slick Romney, the Huckster, Mikey Steele, Pawlenty etc.

The reason for targeting Romney is because he is a RINO. Jim is outing him and I suspect will be outing others.

It serves as a warning that any positive remarks about Rudy McRomney on FR could be considered a banable (sp?) offense. No one can say they were not warned.

I'm waiting to see what happens when Sarah decides to endorse McCain.

Maybe it isn’t the, in this case, anti-Romney posts, maybe it’s the conservative sentiment in general you are not comfortable with.

In other words, it’s you.
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

No, Leisler, it is not me. I have spent a long lifetime being very comfortable (and working hard for) conservative principles.

I asked what I thought was a reasonable question about FR practices... and I asked in what I thought was a courteous way.

You reply by getting personal and accusing me of not being conservative.

I consider your post to be insulting. In the future, I will not acknowledge any of your comments.

You didn't do anything wrong. Yes JimRob and the Mods could answer the question, and probably will, but I don't see anything wrong with having an open discussion about it.

I know Jim doesn't support RINOs. Neither do I, but I must admit, that the "Ad" after each post is getting tiresome. I've seen it already. Ya know?

Keep up the good work Jim keeping this creep's actions front and center.

Romney has zero chance of winning the nomination. I've heard zero Romney supporters complaining. This silly anti-Romney campaign is having zero positive impact on anything.

Huckleberry’s Presidential aspirations dies with those four massacred police officers. (May they Rest in Peace!) But if he shows any signs of trying to run I hope Jim Rob hits him just as hard. Same for Rudy or Linda err Lindsey Graham et al.

I think Romney is done in terms of politics. I haven’t seen hide or hair from Romneybots since March 2008.

Interspersing with other candidates would be okay, I guess, but we really don’t have much of a contingent of supporters trying to convince us to support Huck or Newt. However, we do have a problem with Romney supporters who just won’t take no for an answer.

"Are you calling Free Republic anti-Mormon, because we refuse to support a liberal Republican from Massachusetts? Please explain yourself."

There is a large contingent of fundamental Christians who are opposed to Mormonism and a similarly sized large contingent of liberals who are opposed to any strongly religious (except Islamists and environmental wackos) candidates who together will sink any such candidate.
