I'm usually adept at catching the embedded politics, in tv and movies, and I usually change the station or turn it off when I do. Tonight was the first time, and I was taken aback by it, that I discerned such tactics in the series "Bones"
Is this the one about the spontaneous combustion couple? Was it the health insurance cheating aspect?
I had to stop watching Bones awhile back after they made one of my favorite characters a serial killer and another one of my favorite characters a lesbian overnight! No thank you, what used to be a really good show! :-(
What exactly did you hear/see? I’m curious for your reaction, not curious enough to watch the episode online.
Yes, that’s it. But, no, it wasn’t in the health insurance segment.
Hint: It was about his grand dad (pops) in the last segment. LOL Check my keywords for a better hint.
I didn’t see anything too over the top. But then again I had it on in the background while I was doing other stuff.
“Burned to Ash” is the name of the episode, and HealthCare is the true subject matter.
Towards the end, his 80 something year old grand dad, who reared him, and is not in good health, decides, supposedly on his own, to go back to the assisted living facility from which he came.
To cut to the chase, the message I took was grand dad was going back to die, and not be a burden to anyone, like a good old man should. Just like the 0bama End of Life program alludes to. Even though Booth was willing to find ways to help in DC.
I think that’s a bit of a stretch. The grandpa went back to help one of the ladies with her crochet... :-)
“The grandpa went back to help one of the ladies with her crochet... :-)”
The problem with that line is that he is taking three heart meds, one of which is Coumadin. He can’t even take the “blue” pill with those.
Also, he was a guest character. He showed up, dispensed wisdom, caused chaos, touched hearts, and left. Pretty standard fare.
Coumadin doesn’t keep you from taking viagra or cialis. Neither do other heart meds, what stops a person is the heart condition itself and then only if the doc says no.
Correction to last post, meds with suflar in them will stop you from taking viagra, the combination of viagra and sulfates can cause you to pass out and possibly die from low blood pressure.
Haven’t seen it for a spell. Which character became a lesbian?
Angela. And as it turns out, she was always a lesbian. Her former girlfriend resurfaces as one of those pesky guest stars.
That would be true if he had a valve replacement or other non diseased condition. I just went through this with my brother’s Dr. If you have heart disease, generally, you should not take together either Coumadin, Cardizem, and Viagra, without the Doctor’s ok, and he will control and limit it. “Pops” had Coumadin, and Cardizem, the Viagra is just a supposition (mine-LOL).
The point is, I was struck by the similarity of the End of Life recommendations in the Health Bill, and the episode tonight.
Guess it depends on your focus.
“Angela. And as it turns out, she was always a lesbian. Her former girlfriend resurfaces as one of those pesky guest stars.”
Yeah, those were dumb episodes. Even my wife, a very gullible person, said “oh, bull!” hahaha
I quit watching for a while, and only watch occasionally now.
My focus is pretty good. It’s because so many don’t see these things, that we have 99% of our tv/movie entertainment consisting of embedded left wing political brainwashing.
The rationing of health care, already begun with mammograms, when applied to the elderly, using a Marxist social utility theory measuring the rest of their probable lives vs the cost of the care, will result in Utilization Review Panels making decisions that result in death for 100s of 1000s, effectively Death Panels.
I love Bones. The lesbian character..or bisexual or whatever...did not bother me...but I am with you about the cute little guy they made a serial killer. I hated they did that.
Sorry but sounds like “real life” to me. I have seen too many in this sad situation and would probably do the same myself.
