I did this last year and a lot of good recipes were posted so I thought I'd try it again. Take one and/or leave one!
It is delicious.
Ummm, I’m making this one! Complete with the real maple syrup, too!
You are correct. You can’t make gravy from a brined turkey. Some people set aside the neck and some of the fat to cook separately so they can have some drippings. Personally I prefer my own secret method which makes perfect turkey every time and does not use brining. Plus it tastes like turkey and not just seasonings. 90% of people have no idea how to correctly cook turkey, so they use a gimmick like brining or frying.
Share your secret method. You’re among friends. ;o)
Thanksgiving bump for reference ...
Best way to get a moist turkey is to cook it breast side down! You Fip it breast side up during the last part of cooking to get it nice brown and crispy on the breast side.

I taged it the best thread because of the beer not the brand. LOL
Pining the Gardening thread to a Foodie thread! Goodies for Thanksgiving and Chrismas!
This stuffing sounds awesome. I have two vegetarians coming to Thanksgiving dinner. I think I’ll try this and use vegetable broth instead of chicken broth. Does anybody have suggestions for an easy vegetarian main dish I can make to serve alongside the turkey for these guests?

I’d love to know your secret method!
Every year I alternate between brining, cooking in an oven with no brining, and deep frying it.
Trouble with deep frying is it gets so cold around Thanksgiving that the hoses from the propane to the fryer ice up in some years...

Just put vegetarian thanksgiving into the search box for more recipes.
LMAOOO! (only I would change your receipe to bottle) hehe
I’m not a drinking man myself Fester, but your “recipe” coupled with the screen name, was certainly worth a huge chuckle, thanks.
Family & Friends Favorite.
Buttermilk Pie
3 3/4 cups sugar
1/2 cup flour
2 sticks melted butter
6 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
Sift sugar and flour together. In a separate bowl mix all other ingredients. Slowly add in sugar/flour mixture.
Pour into 9” pie shell and bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
Thanks, I’ve been looking online but so far nothing has leaped out at me as being special and delicious. I want to find one special protein type dish for them that will work with the rest of the Thanksgiving dinner. I’ll check out the food network.
Is that Jack LaLanne in drag? or did NR use styrofoam turkeys...
>>> I taged it the best thread because of the beer not the brand. LOL <<<
Ha ! yea I guessed that.. and I meant to remove the “mix” as you are correct.
I’m in HEAVEN! :)
