(vanity). Purge the Palin haters from our party.

Posted on 11/10/2009 11:39:26 AM PST by se_ohio_young_conservative

I am noticing an increasing number of anti Palin comments among Republicans.

I think this is a good time to filter the trash out of our party. We Republicans tend to tip toe through the tulips. But if we want to get our party back, we need to do it now. As much as I dislike Obama. and many of us mocked his "get in their faces quote". I want to ask you.

How did we dominate the healthcare debate in August ? We stood up and got in their faces. It worked. You can do this without being violent, without using curse words. Just stand up.

Some of you remember the days of Woody Hayes at Ohio State and Bo Schembechler at Michigan.

We can't be afraid to learn and pay attention to how Obama did it. Because Obama was great at getting control of his party and winning. Unfourtunately, he has no idea how to govern. The great thing about Reagan conservatism is, 75% of it is just making the country believe in itself again. We forgot how to govern in the early 2000s. That is how we lost, but we learn from history.

A lot of people said Obama could never be President for various reasons. The same attitude is used against Palin.

Everybody should read Rules For Radicals by Saul Alinsky. We can use their own tactics to destroy them. Right now, I think we need to use these tactics against anti Palin Republicans. Get in their face. Ridicule them. Freeze them. Personalize them. Polarize them. We need to play it like they are so far out of the mainstream. Perception is reality. Our reality is that they are so luke warm and we are spitting them out. Their reality needs to be cold and isolated.

It is not just about Palin. She is one person. But she is a good lithmis test to see who is really a conservative and who is not.

A lot of Palin hating Republicans don't want a woman to be President. Is that reality ? I don't know. But lets make it reality. Lets live it, breath it, accept it as fact. And then it becomes reality in it's self. They are frozen out of the party and isolated.

Lets do it.

Hey, look young man, (or young woman), I've been fighting this fight longer than you've probably been on this earth. I've lived through the cold war era. I know the evils of communism and the evils of liberalism.

I know you cannot go off half cocked and think you're going to change everything.

I wouldn't vote for you for dog catcher because you're so darned emotional, you can't be depended upon to keep your head about you.

Palin, may, or may not be, the right candidate. It's too darned early. But just because someone does not want to jump on the Palin bandwagon now doesn't mean that person is evil. You need to calm down.

Grow up, and stop suggesting purging in the name of Palin. As a candidate, she will want people to vote for her, not against.

If the GOP wins in 2010, it will only be because the people believe the Democrats are far less fiscally conservative and more destructive to the economy than Bush was.

Exactly. That's the way it works.

She seems like a nice enough person but I don’t think she’s the answer to our prayers.

I don’t know who is the answer to our prayers, BTW.

Good grief, no!! But going off half cocked is not going to accomplish anything. I spent many years working in a state legislature trying to advance the very issues about which you are passionate. I know how the process works. You MUST form coalitions. It's the only way to advance an agenda. You cannot do that by wanting to purge everyone who does not agree with you.

You have no idea how many times I was totally exasperated by those on my own side but at the end of the day, we needed every possible vote we could get. I know the anger and the desire to wring people's throats. Get over it. You cannot change certain things, such as how the system works and you cannot control everyone else.

So - anyone who doesn’t believe what you believe should be banished?

How about we all read, learn and decide on our own. Then we can campaign and vote as we see fit.

And you don’t tell me how to think and I won’t tell you how to think. How’s that work for you?

I thought that speech she gave in Minneapolis was one of the greatest speeches I ever saw. and I am not high on anything. Bill O’Reilly said the same thing.

but your opinion of Palin is still pathetic and hateful

You insist that everyone who isn't with you must hate Palin. How young are you.. five? This is the kind of childish response I expect from a liberal Obama supporter.

You and many of the other Palin supporters are preaching to your choir and scaring potential converts away from the church. Reagan Democrats were converted by Reagan's persuasive arguments.

You and the other Palinistas have yet to persuade me that Sarah will bring in any converts to conservatism. Quite the contrary, she's going to scare away many current Republicans and ensure defeat in 2012.

And my opposition to Sarah has nothing to do with hate. It has everything to do with her lack of qualifications and her tiresome ranting about being the victim which Jonah Goldberg wrote a terrific opinion piece on. Goldberg presciently released the op-ed the very morning that Sarah jumped the shark.

The way she was treated in 2008. was such an injustice. that she deserves better luck and better karma in the future.

She had a right to say she was the victim because she was.

She has time. your opinion comes across as hatefull to me. im sorry

Well, since you're a "young conservative", you've probably got at least 40 years before you have to meet with Obama's death panels.

So relax and be patient. A lot can happen in 40 years. You may live long enough to see the next Reagan, Goldwater or Eisenhower. My money is on David Petraeus.

So you think that Republicans are a bigger enemy than any Democrat?

You’ll ‘purge’ the Republican Party (which you clearly clearly do not belong to), and then you will tackle the Dems because they are less pesky than Dems who won’t toe your line with Palin?

Nuts.

It is not just about Palin. She is one person. But she is a good litmus test to see who is really a conservative and who is not.

Good post, and a fair assessment. Sarah Palin is closer to being a pro-American Constitutional conservative than any Republican contender we have seen in our lives, even moreso than the Great Ronald Reagan. She doesn't even have to believe this for it to be true.

Moderates are incapable of seeing this, or understanding anything beyond their level of politics-as-usual, where they pass the baton back and forth between fiddle-dee and fiddle-dum. The RINO contenders are genuinely baffled by Sarah. This kind of phonomena has never happened in their lives; therefore, to their way of thinking, it is not possible.

Most extreme liberals, especially the gay mafia, the most disgusting and vile among the walking dead, recognize or somehow sense it. This is why they shriek like vampires being doused with holy water whenever her name is printed or spoken.

The reality of our current spot in history is shaping our society into two distinct camps - one for constructive good, life, and liberty; and the other for destructive evil, death, and bondage. It just so happens that good people sense the good in Sarah Palin, and evil people are repelled.

Try it in any crowd of strangers. Just say any set of words containing "Sarah Palin", and the whole crowd will split pro-Sarah and against, just like magic. Wheat from the chaff, sheep from the goats, biblical kind of stuff.

Sarah Palin is not the answer to our prayers. She’s got too much baggage right now to be effective, plus-not everyone has Facebook and Twitter.

RINOs are a bigger enemy.

It is either Palin’s party or there is no party at all. The RNC should pay attention. Like the other guy, I am sending money to Palin, not the RNC.

Your thread has been interesting.

But for me it is too Palin oriented. While I think she would
be a great Pres.; names cloud the picture at this time.

The GOP needs to focus.

Every candidate mentioned here could be a good Pres
with the right focus.

Palin, Romney, Pawlenty, Huckabee, and others have the
skills to be a good Pres.

The GOP and all GOP candidates need a focus. I suggest that
the overarching focus should be the reduction of government.

For me, I am only interested in the answer to one question.
Each candidate and GOP thinker need to constantly brainstorm,
hone, and refine the answer to this question.

So that the need to collect taxes is reduced and restraints
on liberty are continually reduced.

How are you going to reduce the size, scope, and reach of
the Federal Government and by how much?

"Purge the Palin haters from our party."

Sorry but that is the wrong approach.

Instead PURGE those in the leadership positions who "game" the system.

The Primary system was designed to give us a good candidate who stood the test on the campaign trail. Now its nothing more than a victory lap for the lapdog those running Washington and the Media choose to be in power.

To end the game, eliminate the "gamers"!
