Hello: Please do not ZOT me. I am a member here for 5+ years. I did this because I had a question that involves my family and know that the freepers are great at advsing/giving asnswers. Yes I joined today and I did this because I don't want my family's business running around the net:
1) I have two sons that were sick. One had cancer and went through chemo. He was covered by my insurance as long as he stayed in college. He fumbled and is not in school at the momnet. When this happened my insurance did not cover him anymore. He cannot get insurance now because NO company wants to do it becuase of the pre-existing clause. Is there any insurance company or way that you guys know of that he can get insurance. He's free of the cancer now but the insurance problem is so bad now that he is making plans to move to Seattle, WA so that he can get on their community insurance program.
2) I have another son that has diabetes. My insurance still covers him. But once he hits 22-23, he will also be dropped by the insurance company. What can he do?
Guys dont ZOT me ok. Or at least give me some time to get some replies or FreepMail me. This is a post of desperation. Yes this is a vanity. But we have been looking for months now and the boys keep asking "Why is Obmama's plan so bad?" I would appreciate some postive replies or suggestions. Hey Jim, you run a great site. I love it and it IS the best. I voted Bush,Dole,W,MCain OK guys? GOD BLESS THE USA AND YOU ALL.
IBTZ?
In both cases, their best bet is to get a job with health insurance benefits.
Smelling a POS...
I assume you didn’t mean to post your response to me?

Yep..... FR operates off the net and doesn’t connect to the net in any way shape or fashion. You should be safe.
sounds like #1 son qualifies for gov’t provide medical since he apparently is over 18, on his own and unemployed.
Insurance is just one form of financing. Insurance is NOT health care. There are other means of financing and there are many hospitals and groups you can turn to. If his cancer has been treated and he has not had any recurrence, I am sure you can find insurance, it, obviously will just cost more. Just like home-owners insurance, If your home is in a flood zone and has been damaged over and over, you can't just go to an insurance company and expect coverage for the same price of a home that wasn't damaged.
I would suggest looking into just purchasing catastrophic insurance, which is easier to get, and invest the difference. By investing the difference, you are creating your own insurance and you have the catastrophic coverage for a major recurrence if necessary.

Most insurance companies will cover someone with diabetes. It may cost a little more, obviously, but it isn't something that insurance companies consider as high of a financial liability as, say, cancer or heart disease. However, consider the alternative I suggested above. Insurance isn't your only option.
Time is relative, you know... ;)
SChip or Medicaid
and you should damn well know it. Having health insurance does not pay for everything you know.
I’m going to be a jerk and answer. I truly feel for you and your family. But nothing you’ve said suggests any reason why I should be forced to pay for your medical care. Medical care, or health insurance, is not a right. People get sick and it truly sucks, but the state has absolutely no right to take money from my pocket and put it in yours. Likewise, I have no claim on your property.
Importantly, though, Christians do have an obligation to charity and to support those in need. That is an individual moral obligation with which I am privileged to give back to God a portion of the resources with which He has blessed me.
That includes sacrificial giving on behalf of those who are truly in need.
In that vein, massive state giveaways like Zerocare are guaranteed to reduce everyone’s standard of living (including the standard of healthcare they actually receive) while raising the share of my property that the state confiscates to pay for their corrupt version of charity.

We are getting dumber and dumber trolls these days.
We used to get trolls that could, at least, feed themselves and tie shoelaces.
Why are you raising the white flag before you even know there is a battle? Take deep breaths...
Try calling your insurance agent. I found the best advice comes from talking to people actually in the business, not from talking to complete strangers via the Internet.
“Hey Jim, you run a great site. I love it and it IS the best.”
Well, that part is true, at least. The rest sounds like you need to go to www.liberalsmakingshitup.com
I’m sure they will help. With COBRA, all of the assorted plans and options and all the other programs out there and you have these massive health problems, you might also want to go to www.helplessanddangerouslyunaware.com
Bingo!
Will they NOT cover him at all? Or are they saying that he is subject to the pre-x clause. Usually an insurance company will not pay anything related to the condition (this case the cancer) for the first year of the policy. After the year is done they would start to pay. There is a distinction between an insurance company telling you that you are not insurable as compared to them telling you there is a pre-x clause.
P.S. IMO don’t let anyone talk you into a limited plan or mini-med. Also how long has he been uninsured?
1 - I always post things to a public message board - that I want kept private.
2 - CLUE** Mouse over someones screen name and their sign-up date shows up. Yours shows you signed up today.
3- Contact the state social services network in the state where the child lives. As someone said, I’m pretty sure that all states have programs for this sort of problem.
4 - If you can’t figure out what is wrong with the Obama/House plan...
If you are for real your son needs to get a job and get benefits, they don’t refuse coverage because of diabetes to my knowledge. And, if he is covered by your coverage now there is no problem, have him get a job and there is no lapse in coverage. The pre-existing thing is an issue, I know ...
