Niceville, FL (AHN) - A woman was arrested Aug. 21 for attacking another woman, a smoker, with a can of air freshener.
Police were called to an apartment complex in Niceville, Fla. where they found a woman spraying a 9 ounce can of "Glade Potpourri Air Freshener" around another woman's head, the Northwest Florida Daily News of Fort Walton Beach reported.
Apparently seeking a fresher environment, the woman allegedly pointed the can at the other woman's head, spraying the contents of the can continuously for nearly a minute.
The police report quoted the sprayer saying she'll continue to spray the air freshener and threatened she'd take the case all the way to the Supreme Court, maintaining her right to breathe fresh air, the Daily News reported.
This was the second time the woman had attacked the other woman with air freshener for smoking in front of her apartment.
The woman was arrested for battery. No word on what scent potpourri she found covered the smoke best.
You are not allone - any sort of perfume gives me an instant migrane, and more exposure leads to repiratory arrest.
The anti-smoking laws are a$$ backwards. Smoking should not be illegal on private property as long as the property owner allows it. It should be illegal on PUBLIC property.
The laws are backwards.
“Smokers shouldnt have special laws just for themselves.”
Ok, let us outlaw perfume of any sort everywhere it is illegal to smoke.
Same-same, no?
Btw, in the 50’s, the drug stores used to sell “asthmatic cigarettes” to “soothe the lungs”. I suppose in 60 years, people will look back at us and think we were stupid. :-)
Yes, it’s the same.
What special laws would those be?
lock her away for life!!!
Actually, I support the idea.
I don’t worry about the dangers of cigarette smoke.
I just don’t think laws should favor a person putting on substance in the air over another. I don’t like air freshner either. In fact, I’d rather cigarette smoke than air freshener ... but the principle is what’s important.
Smokers shouldn’t have special laws.
If i was that woman first i woulda punched the offening woman about 4-5 times then maybe claw her, scratch her and kick her.
probaly woulda kept the cops out of it.
...will have Aqua Net!

Not that I disagree with you, but name me ONE law that isn’t backwards and doesn’t step on our Constitutional/God-Given Rights in some way, shape or form.
It’s insanity! You CANNOT legislate morality or intelligence. That’s pretty d@mn obvious, LOL!
A woman can be fat as can be, Kisses sweet as honey But that don't mean a thing to me If she ain't got no money If the purse is fat....that's where it's at.
And sic the Pit Bull on her for good measure. ;)
Well, as I told a poster upthread.
Smokers are the last safe target for hatred and bigotry.
It has little to nothing to do with the health of the general population. It has everything to do with control.
If anyone wants proof...
Try walking into a mall with an unlit cigarette.
“If the purse is fat....that’s where it’s at.”
My plan is to be very rich and very fat one day. Be nice to me. There might be something in it for you in the long run. *WINK*
That’s a date! My D-I-V-O-R-C-E is going through as we speak. I’m willing to wait, though I do object to the stench of chickens.
Hang with me, and you’ll put on lots of pounds after having some of my cooking.
That is why I support the idea - once it is established that perfume is actually more hazardous than 2nd hand smoke, perfume must therefore be more regulated than smoking.
Hence, no perfume anywhere there is no smoking.
Fines, arrest, 1-800 - rat out -granny...
Soon, people might actually notice how overbearing the government has become.
