Niceville, FL (AHN) - A woman was arrested Aug. 21 for attacking another woman, a smoker, with a can of air freshener.
Police were called to an apartment complex in Niceville, Fla. where they found a woman spraying a 9 ounce can of "Glade Potpourri Air Freshener" around another woman's head, the Northwest Florida Daily News of Fort Walton Beach reported.
Apparently seeking a fresher environment, the woman allegedly pointed the can at the other woman's head, spraying the contents of the can continuously for nearly a minute.
The police report quoted the sprayer saying she'll continue to spray the air freshener and threatened she'd take the case all the way to the Supreme Court, maintaining her right to breathe fresh air, the Daily News reported.
This was the second time the woman had attacked the other woman with air freshener for smoking in front of her apartment.
The woman was arrested for battery. No word on what scent potpourri she found covered the smoke best.
Next time this lady goes out to smoke, she should carry her own can of spray. There’s some catfish bait stuff that ought to do the trick.
Sheesh...
If she didn’t spray it AT the woman, but merely around in front of her apartment, I would agree with her. Seems like she took her point too far.
As long as she’s not spraying AT the woman, she has the same right to put something in the air as a smoker does.
I’ve often wondered why more people didn’t do this (not spraying something AT someone) ... fill the air with something around the air in a public place. If smoker’s can do it, so can non-smokers.
Potpourri, yick! At least she could have tried “Mountain Breeze!”
I wish somebody would arrest the windbreaker at my gym class!
And the smoke was probably wafting into her neighbor's windows. Need to know what the apartment complex's policy on smoking is before I assign guilt. Many apartment complexes these days (like mine) ban smoking anywhere on the property. I have to walk out to the back alley by the trash dumpsters to have a smoke.
LOL most jails don’t allow smoking so it looks like she’ll get her wish.
For REAL fun, she should have sprayed Hairspray, and directly at the cigarette. . .
(Aqua Net + flame = flamethrower)
LOL. It’s not Glade...it’s Glaad’e! Funny story!
Just goes to show what happens when someone gets in your face with their business. Having to walk through a cloud of ciggie smoke is always so fun!! NOT. I’m just guessing the crazy perp just got fed up.
When I was “just divorced” and living in a cheesy apartment - the people downstairs smoked non stop. It seeped thru the vents. Gross!
I’m 15 years clean and smoke free. My mouth no longer tastes like an ashtray...my hair smells pretty... I’m rarely sick now and hopefully I won’t die as young as my brother did because he was a walking chimney. Go figure.
If you smoke, give yourself the best gift ever - quit.
If you think you can’t - say it with me - “Yes I can!”
/soapbox
Gee, I wonder if she would care if someone attached her with a staple gun or hornet and wasp repellant...a spray is a spray...Wasp and hornet spray is a good thing for ladies to keep in their cars if they go out at night...someone sticks their hand inside your car a staple gun would be good to have, if you can see their face wasp spray is good.
The smoker was indulging in a legal activity.
LOL
The woman doing the spraying had no right to do what she did. Bless her little heart, she did not know any better.
So? People are allergic to cigarette smoke to.
Fair’s fair. (Like I said, not spraying at someone, but spraying around where they are smoking is legit I think.
I support smoker’s rights to smoke on private property where the owner of the property allows it. But in public places, if smokers can add something to the air, anyone should be allowed to do the same.
The anti-smoking laws are backwards. They restrict smoking on private property but allow it on public property. A$$ backwards. It should be the other way around.
Next time the smoker should spray her back, with hair spray and a match. That will settle the matter.
That would be violence. Nice of you to promote that.
Ive often wondered why more people didnt do this (not spraying something AT someone) ... fill the air with something around the air in a public place. If smokers can do it, so can non-smokers.

Maybe because most folks have something better to do.
I beg to differ.
They put one of yours in the hospital, you put one of theirs in the morgue. It's the Chicago way.
Besides ,it was a bit tongue in cheek anyway, sorry if it disturbs you.
zot
Yes it is violence, that’s why I denounce that. But spraying fragrance around someone is not violence ... it’s no different than smoking around someone.
