Niceville, FL (AHN) - A woman was arrested Aug. 21 for attacking another woman, a smoker, with a can of air freshener.
Police were called to an apartment complex in Niceville, Fla. where they found a woman spraying a 9 ounce can of "Glade Potpourri Air Freshener" around another woman's head, the Northwest Florida Daily News of Fort Walton Beach reported.
Apparently seeking a fresher environment, the woman allegedly pointed the can at the other woman's head, spraying the contents of the can continuously for nearly a minute.
The police report quoted the sprayer saying she'll continue to spray the air freshener and threatened she'd take the case all the way to the Supreme Court, maintaining her right to breathe fresh air, the Daily News reported.
This was the second time the woman had attacked the other woman with air freshener for smoking in front of her apartment.
The woman was arrested for battery. No word on what scent potpourri she found covered the smoke best.
maybe it helped them
I understand it if smokers acan go around adding substances to the air then non smoker should be able to go around adding substances to the air of they want.
I know it has always been legal to smoke outside.
I don’t think it should be ON PUBLIC PROPERTY.
Maybe you’re right only someone nuts would walk around spraying canned fragrance outside, but it would make the point that on public property, smoking should be illegal.
Our laws on smoking are backward. Smoking should be legal on private property, including privately owned restuarants, bars, shops etc. and be illegal on public property outdoors and indoors.
You are a nanny stater.
I don't LIKE it so THEY should be stopped! Wah!
What you can't do is spray someone in the face. That's assault.
when is it in the face and not int he air
In the story you are posting to.
No, it’s about principle, not what I like
That’s why I think smoking should be legal on private property, like privately owned bars, restaurants, shops, etc.
I don’t “like” to encounter smoke in restuarants, bars, shops etc., but I think it should be legal there anyway. On private property, property owners should make their own smoking policy.
The principal of private property is more important than what I like or don’t like. So I’m against anti-smoking laws on private property.
So, you’re wrong about my motives.
On public property, it’s a different ball game. But I stand on principle there too.
No. It's about allowing government more encroachments of rights.
On public property, its a different ball game.
Smoke quickly disperses outside.
You may think that you've found the "perfect out" but you have not. You are still advocating controlling a legal behavior in public because you don't think it's "fair".
Public behaviour in public places is controlled all the time. That is not about ‘fair’, it’s about competing interests.
Post 88: Its about fairness
Do simply spew whatever liberal claptrap comes into your head?
This is about government stepping into people's lives and controlling legal behavior.
You are not a conservative.
Whatever. You don’t seem to know the difference between conservative principle and emotion.
Post 23 :fill the air with something around the air in a public place. If smokers can do it, so can non-smokers.
Now there's a nonemotional reason. /s
Post 34 Fairs fair.
So it IS about fairness?
Post 59 But I still say that if smokers can pollute the air, so can air freshener spayers, perfume wearers, people spraying mosquito spray around others, etc. Same same.
Growup.
