Niceville, FL (AHN) - A woman was arrested Aug. 21 for attacking another woman, a smoker, with a can of air freshener.
Police were called to an apartment complex in Niceville, Fla. where they found a woman spraying a 9 ounce can of "Glade Potpourri Air Freshener" around another woman's head, the Northwest Florida Daily News of Fort Walton Beach reported.
Apparently seeking a fresher environment, the woman allegedly pointed the can at the other woman's head, spraying the contents of the can continuously for nearly a minute.
The police report quoted the sprayer saying she'll continue to spray the air freshener and threatened she'd take the case all the way to the Supreme Court, maintaining her right to breathe fresh air, the Daily News reported.
This was the second time the woman had attacked the other woman with air freshener for smoking in front of her apartment.
The woman was arrested for battery. No word on what scent potpourri she found covered the smoke best.
I love chocolate.
I’m just starting to get to that age where i should step up a level beyond Nestle Quik and Hagen Daz and maybe become an actual connoisseur some day....
I have a good old friend that absolutely hates chocolate.
??????????
bttt
Certain non-smokers see no problem with having special laws.
Smokers shouldn’t expect special laws just for them? Did I miss some legislation? Somebody please tell me about these special laws!! Last I checked, smoking was well on its way to being banned everywhere except for in the closet on every-other Wednesday that falls under a full moon when it’s snowing in Jamaica during a hurricane.
Nobody in Florida has their windows open this time of year. Temps are ~90º with matching humidity. Air conditioners are running full tilt.
I don’t agree with laws making it illegal to smoke on private property. That’s backwards. Private property owners should make their own smoking policy on their property.
Smoking on PUBLIC property should be banned.
Next time I go Ft. Bragg (the one in California) I'll spray every hippie I come in contact with with breath freshener and deodorant.
Same on the right. No special laws for homosexuals, hate crime laws for only some groups etc. ... which I agree aren’t fair.
I’m saying the same thing about smokers.
Couple of years ago I was at a birthday party held at a city park. Several of us were standing back away from the shelter house having a smoke. Some “lady” walked by complaining about the cigarette smoke. She stood a few feet away still complaining. Was funny because then she was standing in the middle of the smoke from the grill still complaining about cigarette smoke.
No. You're not. You are advocating to control someone elses behavior in order to be "fair". Fair isn't in the Constitution.
“Soon, people might actually notice how overbearing the government has become.”
You know I greatly respect you, but you’re dreamin’. Man! The Sheeple have been slowly boiled for so long, they don’t notice a freakin’ thing, unless the welfare check doesn’t come. They certainly can’t grasp that we’re losing Constitutional Rights left and right and that Government oversteps its bounds nearly every d@mn day!
Start with some Lindt brand chocolates. They sell it at Walgreen’s. You’ll never go back to Hershey bars, LOL!
Stand back, because they’ll melt and leave a really gross puddle, LOL!
People still protest outside of military bases? Yeesh. How 60’s! ;)
Ah, well. I also dream about winning the lotto.
Someday I might go as far as to actually buy a ticket.
14th Amendment Equal Protection Clause.
equal protection under the law for ALL people = fair
= no special laws for SOME people.
You likened them to gays and hate crime victims. These are people that are lifted above the rest of society. Smokers are not. They are vilified while using a legal product.
You seem to want to control other peoples behavior that you don't like. Definitely NOT a conservative idea.
WHy;ont yu jus climb on in there while yer out there
that can result in extreme fatalty
Shelion used to keep a list of violence associated with smoking. It was quit legnthy.
I think laws against smoking on private property are wrong and have worked against them in my state.
On public property, if smokers are allowed to smoke there, then anyone else should be allowed to add other substances to the air. That's equal protection under the law. Smokers shouldn't be the only ones allowed to add substances to the air we all breathe on PUBLIC PROPERTY.
To recap, if someone is legally smoking on PUBLIC PROPERTY, then someone else should be able to legally spray a substance into the air in the same PUBLIC area. That's equal protection under the law.
If they are not, then smokers have special laws on PUBLIC PROPERTY that non-smokers do not have.
Your premise is a strawman. Only nuts would walk around spraying canned fragrance OUTSIDE. What's the point? None. Other than your silly premise that smokers have special "rights" because they can smoke outside. It has always been legal to smoke outside.
