(Vanity) Sarah Palin, Alinsky, and ObamaCare (With A Nod To William Shakespeare)

It appears, based upon the increasingly frenetic pronouncements from Congress (such as from Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and from The Annointed One Himself), it appears that the juggernaut towards socialized health care has -- at least for now -- been stopped. There are a number of reasons for this.

The main one has been unbridled arrogance of Congress and of Obama, based on decades of being able to lie through their teeth about virtually anything, and never get called on it, simply because they are Democrats. They are simply shell-shocked when they are confronted with a public who not only doubts their word, but whose members are able to contradict their own lies and misstatements, in public, in real time. These are no longer the days of Walter Cronkite!

Their response to this has been hatred, obfuscation, violence, threats, and lies. Here are a couple of examples:

--A recent Town-Hall "meeting" with officials from Pfizer, in which protesters were mockingly called 'Teabaggers' (ostensibly about The Boston Tea Party, but to the congnoscenti, a slang term for the practice of someone dipping their testicle's into someone else's mouth).

--The closing off of Town Hall meetings to all but pre-selected plants known to be favorable to the desired conclusion. (How again is this "representative"? More like astroturf, or Soviet Communist Party rallies.)

--The escalation of violence, such as when *white* union thugs beat up a black conservative outside a rally in Missour, sending him to the hospital, or disabled woman OUT OF HER WHEELCHAIR. Oh, that's right. It's Republicans who are racist and violent, I forgot.

These are all examples of Alinskyite tactics -- in particular, the now-famous directive to "pick the target, freeze it, and polarize it."

One of the left's main targets of this treatment, even before Obamacare, has been Sarah Palin. And the RINOs and sycophants of the press, including some supposedly on the right (Kathleen Parker, David Brooks) have joined in. Even Charles Krauthammer, who should know better, has joined in. And here is the Annointed One, His Unholiness, attempting a slam (as well as historical revision) . Who in the press do you remember in ecstasy a year ago over Palin? And since when does the PRESIDENT use the term "Wee-weed" in a PUBLIC FORUM? (Who was it who has the Ivy League credentials, again, Barry?) (*)

What is it Sarah Palin has done to earn such ire? Why, she has boomeranged the Alinskyite tactics back ONTO the left. And she is EFFECTIVE (you betcha!)

There are two topics in particular which she has raised, which have singlehandedly crystallized the opposition to Obamacare -- in a way which the man in the street can instinctively relate to, at a visceral level, and which puts paid to ALL attempts of the chattering sophisticates to talk around it.(+)

1) She insists that tort reform be an integral part of health care.

If there is only ONE group in America more hated than insurance companies (the Dems' current Alinskyite villian in this situation), it is attorneys. And, in doing so, Sarah evokes memories of Shakespeare's King Henry:

"The First Thing We Do, Let's Kill All the Lawyers"

2) She coined the phrase "Death Panels" which immediately sucked ALL of Obama's oxygen out of the room -- it encapsulated everyone's fears about the end results of Obamacare, it revealed the long-term results behind the talk of "cutting costs" and "difficult choices", it solidified Rush Limbaugh's comparisons to Socialized Medicine under National Socialism. As well as having the ring of truth. In doing so, Sarah paraphrased Shakespeare once again:

"A Death Panel by Any Other Name Would Still PUll the Plug on Granny."

Sarah, we never knew you had it in you. Not bad for a mere University of Idaho grad.

Speaking of Ivy League credentials, here are a few of Harvard's other alumni, for your consideration:

1. Ernst_Hanfstaengl, who claims to have invented the phrase "Seig Heil".

2. Soroku Yamamoto, who helped plan the attack on Pearl Harbor.

3. Mathematician Theodore Kaczynski, who currently resides in Florence, Colorado. In case you've forgotten, that's the Federal Supermax prison. You may know him as the Unabomber.

4. Jeffrey K. Skilling, former CEO of Enron.

5. Eugene Plotkin, convicted of insider trading while at Goldman Sachs.

(+)

But there are others who agree with Sarah Palin:

Nat Hentoff, who eviscerates Obamacare by referencing Section 1233 of H.R. 3200, and Ezekiel Emmanuel (a "bioethicist" and Rahm Emmanuel's brother).

Andrew McCarthy in National Review Online.

The inimitable Mark Steyn.

Zeke Emanuel is also supposed to have been an oncologist. Check this scheme.

But what is most intriguing about the Guaranteed Healthcare Access Plan is its financing. Emanuel would pay for the nation's health care with a 10 percent value-added tax (VAT).
