It is probably the handiwork of the same individual who generated the phrase: “went missing”. People don’t “go missing”. They either “are missing” or “are not missing”.

Bob Lobell...former Boston sportscaster...is the King of "Ya know what?"
He starts off almost every sentence with it.

I similarly can’t stand sentences that start with:
1) Here’s what I’m going to say...
2) Look...
3) Truthfully...
4) You know...
5) I was born in Hawaii..
6) No family under $250K will see a tax increase...

The phrase that has really been irritating me as of late has been, "At the end of the day..."
How is the end any different or more important than any other part of the day? Won't things be pretty similar at the start of the next day?

As annoying as that phrase is, a co-worker had a canned response to anyone who used it:
Moron: “You know what?”
Co-Worker: “Chickens Butt!”
His response was even more annoying.
My personal pet peeve? People who say, “I could care less”
My response is usually “You could?” which they usually miss.

I got and email today that said...."I need the output specs for the new Coggins turbo. When you get the final parimeters, email them to myself or to the lead floor tech"
UHG.... I hate when people say "myself" instead of "me". They just trying to sound articulate and dignified.

Every time i reply “What?” he has to sit and think of something to tell me.

I’ve noticed that people don’t use the word “Absolutely” four times in one sentence as much anymore.

You know what really bugs me? It’s when you tell someone something and they reply with “oh really?” I don’t know why but to me it just comes across as condescending.

How about this one...
You're WATCHING the news on TV. The news-reader, turns to a monitor by his/her side and says, "Take a look at this."
What the heck else am I going to do - I'm WATCHING you, your moron!!!
----------------------------------------------
And another one from Rush...
Every once in a while, he'll start talking about something by saying, "Look it, ..." Look it? Huh? What the heck does that mean?
To: don-o
"I tell you what."
That is a complete sentence in Texas.

"I
could couldn't care less."
That's my personal peeve. It's "couldn't." "Could" in this context meant I must care a great deal, because it's possible to care less. "Couldn't" means I don't care at all, there is no quantity of "care" less than zero. That's the impression one tries to give in uttering this bromide.
