Did you hear about the guy that lives on nothing? No seriously, he lives on zero dollars a day. Meet Daniel Suelo, who lives in a cave outside Moab, Utah. Suelo has no mortgage, no car payment, no debt of any kind. He also has no home, no car, no television, and absolutely no “creature comforts.” But he does have a lot of creatures, as in the mice and bugs that scurry about the cave floor he’s called home for the last three years.
To us, Suelo probably sounds a little extreme. Actually, he probably sounds very extreme. After all, I suspect most of you reading this are doing so under the protection of some sort of man-made shelter, and with some amount of money on your person, and probably a few needs for money, too. And who doesn’t need money unless they have completely unplugged from the grid? Still, it’s an amusing story about a guy who rejects all forms of consumerism as we know it.

Methanol is blinding because when you metabolize it.. it produces Formic acid .

You had me confused, but I went to the original post and LOL, yes, a treadle pump would work as a stair stepper.

I am here alone and do not have good health, so if I got down and couldn’t care for it, it would die too.
It is almost too much even now, takes all day to feed them, at the pace I can go.

Food riots are an every day event in parts of the world.
CB, what a lovely sight, all that firewood. What a lot of work if you were hand-splitting it. I tried to talk my guys into cutting some trees down earlier this spring, but they didn’t do it. I suppose there might be some laying in the back woods, down by nature, but we haven’t checked. We do have a small pile that youngest son brought home from his landscape work.

Night before we were to take off and convoy from Texas to Ft. Richardson, Alaska, (for winter maneuvers - over Christmas and New Years too) our Company did some heavy partaking of that devil’s swill... Drank till 4, threw up till 5 climbed behind the wheel of my big truck by 6. Oh - that 4” exhaust pipe with no muffler was sooooo loud... JB and I parted company after that. I have not forgotten that smell - even almost half a century later.
Shoot, it messed us up so bad we never made it to Alaska, but Homestead Florida instead... (Cuban Missile Crisis) That was funny, arrived in Florida with arctic parkas and mukluks - think we didn’t get some ribbing over that.
It could probably be rigged to produce electricity.
I’m trying to figure out how to make something productive from the stair stepper that was given to me.

I understand your concerns but...people that have pets live longer happier lives.
I have friends that have an Amazonian parrot..It came to them through a ‘will’. since they live about 80 years, it is in their will to go to a younger relative.
Perhaps you can arrange an adoption for him ...at a later date.
