Headed for a year without a summer? 10 Jun 09 AccuWeather's Joe Bastardi expects areas from the northern Plains into the Northeast to have a "year without a summer." The last time this happened was the Tamboro eruption in 1815 followed by a year without a summer in 1816, says reader Charles Patrick. See Headed for a year without a summer?
Actually Summer doesn't start until about the 21 of June, but it is a lot cooler this year in Northern CA. It has been about 72 in the day time, sometimes hitting 80, but usually we would be having about 85 to 95 weather about now. It has rained several times over the last few weeks also. while this is not unheard of it has been quite a while since it rained this late in June and the temps at night are dropping down into the 50s. I am only at about 1000 foot elevation also, that means a large part of Northern CA is much cooler.
Silly, don't you know that commie metric crap just isn't going to catch on?
(4C = 39F) == (4Commie = 39Freeper)?
It’s radon that gets released.
I’m terrified that they’ll find a way to cryogenically freeze Al Gore, then thaw him, and blame it on global warming. That’s terrrrifying!
LOL! I’ll be dead by then and so will my fear of the World.
thanks, bfl
I lived in Glendale at the time. I think i was off playing at a park near our home on that day. It is strange not hitting 100 degrees without monsoonal activity. Yesterday I was in my backyard around noon and felt a cool breeze. Kinda of nice, but I wish it was more like in the 70’s for highs, so I can turn off both air conditioners. Oh, well. LOL!!!
I was in Scottsdale on that day but ended up at my home in Gila Bend. That’s right Gila Bend. Dang was AZ hot and very exciting. :^>
Yeah, that was only day I remember that they had to ground the planes due to the heat. From your earlier comment, my Dad had one of those shirts as well.
It’s not very warm for June. You may want to bring long pants and a jacket.
Seems Mr.Mac likes his picture taken.
Here in southwest Montana it was snowing down to almost valley level, 6,000 feet, over the weekend and a little higher Tuesday night. I think the temp is supposed to get into the low 70’s a couple times over the next ten days.
Yes global warming alarmism is bunk, but we should be developing more compelling arguments against it than personal extrapolations from one's heating bill to large planetary trends.
Back in the 40’s my parents had some property on Lake Huron, every once in a while that lake would drop back 30-40 feet. The next summer it would be at its normal level. At that time my dad blamed it on the St Lawrence Seaway...as Rosanna Danna said...”its always something”
Some years there would massive die off of alwife fish and the whole place stunk all summer...The following year everything was back to normal...Did go on smelt runs with my dad at the age of 8, nighttime with a net and flashlight. Loved it during the smelt run... No one yelled man made global warming, or ice age coming. No man made pollution killing fish. It was just life, ever changing..
But that was before there was money to be made off the climate and natural death cycles.
That is a great thought....me too
