Remember when Bush was elected all the liberals threatened to move to Canada? And never did? They stayed here and now they've got exactly the President and Congress they've always wished for. And the rest of us are getting the shaft. And our children and grandchildren will be paying in every way for this folly unto the last generation.
My daughter and her husband have been asking me where they can move to to avoid the inevitable disasters that will ensue from Obama's policies, and I've been hard put to come up with a refuge that doesn't have its own drawbacks. But it just occurred to me that if enough of us who still believe in liberty and free markets and who reject phony rubbish like global climate change and endless government regulation move to Canada and become Canadian citizens, we could vote in a government up there that would be more like the United States we used to live in than the one that's shaping up now.
I believe the time is coming, and quickly, when the productive citizens of this (former) republic will be forced to recognize that the tipping point has passed - the parasitic socialists and tax-eaters have become the permanent majority in the US and will continue to vote for policies that exploit and punish the producing class. There are too many of them, and too few of us.
But if we all move to Canada, which is still in fact a sparsely-populated country for its size, we could form a new majority of productive citizens and vote in a truly conservative, free market government. At some point we might even persuade Alaska to secede from the US and join the new United Provinces of Canada. And in any case, WE'D BE ENTIRELY SELF-SUFFICIENT IN OIL.
There’s no point, Canada is moving here!
It’s cold up there, and more socialist than even Obama is trying for. I’m stayin.

But Canada is just damn cold!
If I did move to Canada, it would be in Calgary or some other city in the west. They still have conservatives out there.

This is a perfect explanation of why NOT to move to Canada. Politics is cyclical. In two, four or eight years, we could have “exactly the President and Congress [we’ve] always wished for.” Things can turn just that quickly.
The night is darkest just before the dawn — but the dawn will come.

I married a Mexican girl, ditto.
I’d rather stay here and throw monkey wrenches into Liberal plans.
My understanding is that those moving to Canada are by law barred from working there.
I might have thought of moving there but with global temps now dropping it will be covered in an ice sheet by the time I’m finally settled in.
But ... But ... we all want to move there. Won’t that affect the tilt in the Earth’s axis? Hey maybe it will cause a little warming up thata way!
It’s cold in Canada. Good luck in getting Southerners (especially)to entertain this one.
I will not pledge allegiance to Bryan Adams. No sir, I will not.
Actually, I stole that line from Harvey Dent in the Dark Knight.
Then again — Dent went on a murdering spree and died before the dawn came ... so maybe I should choose another source.

Naw, too cold. The beer is pretty good however...
“I dated a Canadian girl for 3 years”
Me too, but for a year. Each Saturday after payday I would drive the 130 miles up to Vancouver BC, stay in her parents guest house in the back, and on Sunday night make to the return trip back to Washington, getting only a few hours of sleep before getting up for work at 4:00 AM Monday. If we would of continued dating though, It would of been her moving here, not the other way around. They have better beer, great skiing, nice people, but the prices are a killer.

It wasn’t over when:
1) the German bombed Pearl Harbor(animal house reference)
2) FDR extended the Great Depression
3) Carter’s ‘deer in the headlights’ look when Iran seized our embassy personnel and the Soviets blitzed Afghanistan
4) LBJ micromanaging the Vietnam War
5) OPEC turning off the lights in 1973
6) Nixon’s Price Controls
7) Bill and Hilary—’enough said
8) 9-11
9) the YK2 that never happened
10) USA being owned by Japan Inc.in the 80’s
11) Stagflation
Call me naive and an optimist but this nation will rise and meet this leftist challenge with the ferocity of a pit-bull.
