U.S. Army To Buy $6 Million Of Riot Equipment (Obama plans to crush citizen protests this summer)
blacklistednews ^ | 2/25/09 | Watson

The U.S. Army is to invest $6 million in riot equipment, a fact that has furthered fears that troops will be used inside the U.S. in order to quell any civil unrest resulting from the ongoing economic crisis.

The U.S. Army Contracting Agency, based at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, has a post on the Federal Business Opportunities website, requesting the equipment and has received several notices of interest from potential vendors.

The request titled “84–RIOT EQUIPMENT” outlines the need for hard polyethylene Shin and Chest Guards, shock absorbing Forearm Protectors, Interior leg brace supports as well as knee and ankle protectors.

The ACA asks that the equipment be able to “safely withstand a substantial blow… from non-ballistic weapons or flying debris”.

The Solicitation also states:

The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 453998 with a small business size standard of $6M. This requirement is a [ Small Business ] set-aside and only qualified offerors may submit bids.

Interested vendors include Irish Brigade inc., manufacturers of hunting and safety gear with facilities located in the heart of Kansas City , Missouri. Federal and Military resource company MCLEARVISION, LLC is another interested party, as is Kentucky based U. S. CAVALRY STORE, INC.

In our article yesterday we highlighted the fact that Urban warfare training drills are taking place across the country as top analysts as well as officials predict a potential “summer of rage” across Europe and America as civil unrest from the economic fallout builds.

Are such drills really for the purpose of preparing troops for foreign combat zones? Undoubtedly - but other factors indicate that the drills may very well also be aimed at preparing troops for dealing with mass civil unrest as the economic crisis worsens.

There’s no question that U.S. authorities have been closely observing riots that have toppled governments in Iceland and Latvia and also threatened to do so in several other European countries. The fact that they have contingency plans in place to deal with such scenarios should they unfold in America cannot be disputed.

Indeed, before a media exposé forced them into a denial, Northcom revealed that one of the duties of at least 20,000 active duty troops that are being placed inside the United States would be dealing with “civil unrest and crowd control”.

The U.S. Army War College in November released a white paper called Known Unknowns: Unconventional ‘Strategic Shocks’ in Defense Strategy Development. The report warned that the military must be prepared for a “violent, strategic dislocation inside the United States,” which could be provoked by “unforeseen economic collapse,” “purposeful domestic resistance,” “pervasive public health emergencies” or “loss of functioning political and legal order.” The “widespread civil violence,” the document said, “would force the defense establishment to reorient priorities in extremis to defend basic domestic order and human security.”

Dear Army,
I will be on the side that swore to defend and uphold the
Constitution of the United States of America. Please realize
there is no need to fire in my direction.

Unless they suspend elections. Then it will be REAL interesting.

Then it will be time to start voting from the rooftops.

>>In fact, the NRA, and other news outlets, AT THE TIME, roported that guns were being confiscated by police, U.S. Marshals and the National Guard. I suggest you look up some of the reporting (and videos) that were circulating WHILE it was going on.<<

And there was no water for the refugees either. Reporting wasn’t always facts. I’m just sayin’

Reading this article brings the thought forward, or question actually as to why such efforts when the simplest answer is to get the economy rolling again using proven Conservative principles. Of course he’s not a Conservative, but the principles are proven, so why not use them?

Gearing up to control means intent to control, rather than avoidance of the necessity to control.

I would think that were Obama an American, a true American with the well being of all citizenry and the U.S. as his priority, which should be as our President that all monies and efforts would be directed towards stabilizing, and resurrecting the economy. He chooses to lead us to tyranny instead.

States have National Guard, State Militia to backup localities enforcement efforts, therefore why the buildup of military unless this President’s priorities are other than for the good will of our citizenry, our way of life, our Constitutional rights, etc.

This article may be a lot of BS also, but the content if true is quite alarming, and would be proof this misAdministration is focused upon a different America than you or myself know or desire.

Picking up the last of recent additions to our weapons collection tomorrow. I hope all are readying themselves in defense of their homes, their Freedom, and their Nation.

BLOAT.

The $6M provision in the bid is for small-business qualification. In order to qualify bid on it the small business had to do no more than $6M in business per year. If the company did more than $6M they could not bid on it.

in some cases that would make it a one bidder bid

We had most of this at Ft. Belvoir in the late ‘60s. Except for the riot equipment. How does 14,000 rounds (IIRC) of 7.62 for one company sound?

We were a battalion of Combat Engineers (91st) and were give riot duty for Wash. D.C. Us because we were who they had available.

Not all of this is new or unusual.

FACTS are not occasion for screaming “tinfoil.”

Check out the leaders’ quotes from 1900 on at my tagline ref:

Read a scattered smattering of even 1-2% of the quotes.

Then tell me how much you think this is all absurd tinfoil stuff!

No one is forsaking the patriotic soldier.

Sheesh.

On of FR’S own . . . a senior level Navy Officer retired a number of years ago.

I asked him privately what percentage of the officer corps did he think were staffed by folks sympathetic to the globalist values and goals.

He said . . . 30%.

Sobering, at best.

The only reference WHERE? in the WORLD?

I think not.

Others have already posted VIDEO right here on this thread of guard trops taking guns.

There is an article on Reason.com, as well as one in Guns and Ammo magazine from around that time which refer to Guard troops and/or Federal Marshals disarming law abiding citizens. Further, NRA was reporting at the time that Guard troops were seizing guns. Their own videos (also available on YouTube) mention it.

PS - You ORIGINALLY stated unequivocally that it was ONLY New Orleans police who were seizing guns. So, nice job trying to change the parameters of the discussion once you were proven wrong. I refer to "...It was not a federal directive carried out with federal troops."

"Damn spunky...go to the thread and check the replies....tin foil land is the general opinion."

I was a part of that thread. I said at posting #29 it may be tin foil but there are things that have been happening that make you wonder. Check that posting at #29 and also check my posting on that thread at #39.

After I read some of your other replys here on this thread I see now where you are coming from that would give you the urge to curse me. You think I am now against the National Guard. Not so.

Ok...well just keep that in mind when you see people running around with their heads cut off not thinking...

It just might be that the citizen soldier is the last friend the American civilian has...irregardless of what Alex jones has to say about it...

I’m sure he is brewing a new crop of DVD’s and book geared tword the right...

believe our Army cannot get involved

Explain that to the shade of President Ike, he sent the 101st Airborne into Little Rock to help integrate the high school. Right after federalizing the Arkansas Guard and ordering them to stop enforcing segregation.

‘in some cases that would make it a one bidder bid’

In some cases it might but for these items there are dozens of bidders.
I’ve seen size requirements of $2M/year and there still are over 10 bidders. Some have restrictions on the number of employees, i.e. no more than 15 workers.
This is routine in military procurement.
