Jackson, MS is more dangerous to live in than being on combat missions Iraq and Afghanistan (combined)...

"You hate to see a young person lose his life in this manner, but those are the consequences when you take actions as such." If this 'young person' (read some kind of underprivileged yute) was doing what was alleged, then NO I don't mind he/she/it allegedly losing their life.

The unidentified vehicle owner was questioned and released. Then its not a homicide.

You hate to see a young person lose his life in this manner, but those are the consequences when you take actions as such. Now the deceased Mr. Lenard enjoys the unique opportunity to serve as a lesson to others.

Pest control. A proper government would refund the cost of the shell. IMHO.

"...the deceased was allegedly breaking into an SUV when the owner of the SUV came outside and caught him inside the vehicle." He shot the perp with a shotgun while the perp sat in his SUV?
Talk about your Pyrrhic victory.

The capital city's 61st homicide investigation centered on a man who was fatally shot while allegedly attempting to break into a vehicle.Put me on that jury and the shooter will walk - this isn't "homicide"; it's protection of ones' property. In my book, the SUV is worth far more than the deadbeat thief that tried to steal it.

Sounds like Jackson still has a lot of Katrina refugees. That used to be a safe part of town.

That would be 61st homicide of 2008 in November.
Not 61st of 2009. That would be pretty alarming.

The capital city's 61st homicide investigation centered on a man who was fatally shot while allegedly attempting to break into a vehicle. Is it still considered a homicide if the guy needed killin'?
