“When boys as emotionally and physically child-like as Alfie start creating babies, its the thin end of a wedge that will break the existing cracks in society so wide open that therell be no hope of repair”
and yet if they’d smashed the baby’s head in, there would have been no story, no “outrage”, no “wedge”
It’s just page-filling material to sun hacks. Like shooting fish in a barrel

That picture makes the story. That looks like a big brother.

I could care less about this punk.
Does not deserve a “headline” on FR.
Let Greta go after this. I am more interested in saving our Country then a kid fathering a baby.
Jim, whack this post ASAP. I don't think this is what Free Republic is about. Want this kind of trash buy the National Inquirer.

Things could be worse. When I first read the headline I thought it said: “Baby-faced boy is father *of* 13”.

Paint him brown and stretch him to 5'4" and he could be my 11 YO... Who I'd smack through a wall if he did this...THEN he could raise the child.

The two years between 13 and 15 are pretty significant. That boy will have just entered puberty, and his “girlfriend” will have been in puberty for nearly five years.
Evidently all their “parts” are working just fine: perhaps too well.
I’m astonished his parents permitted him to have a 15 year old girlfriend in the first place. The only good news to come out of this is that the baby appears healthy and that these children decided not to have an abortion. So things aren’t as bad as they could be.

Its disgraceful, really, the boy is just a child himself and has now to look forward to looking a child, there goes college and his early teenage years. So feckless, the parents of this boy should be ashamed of themselves. The worst thing is the newspaper article is trying to make look as normal as possible when it should be screaming this is so wrong. "Alfie, who lives on an estate across town with mum Nicola, 43, spends most of his time at the Steadmans’ house. " "He is allowed to stay overnight and even has a school uniform there so he can go straight to his classes in the morning." Great so he can get her pregnant again, social services in the UK should have put a stop to that. Allowing a 13 yr old boy to stay in the house with the 15 yr old girl and the baby is asking for more trouble.

Thirteen seems a bit young to me. But what the heck, maybe he’s able to support his wife and child like a man is supposed to. What sort of work does he do?

He told how he and Chantelle, 15, decided against an abortion after discovering she was pregnant. And yet so many 30-something couples get drunk, shack up and have repeated abortions.
Alfie and Chantelle are obviously very courageous for their ages. Good luck to them.

Here is an interesting story we are not hearing aobut.
From the Manchester Evening News:
Crew-cut Alfie, who looks far younger than his age, has followed in the footsteps of Jamie Sutton from east Manchester, who became Britain's youngest father of twins at the same age in 1999. Jamie was also only 12 when he got his 16-year old girlfriend Sarah Drinkwater pregnant, and the general opinion was that the relationship wouldn't last.
Several years later the pair had proved doubters wrong however, and as well as twins Leah and Louise, the arrival of a third daughter Ellie, brought the family even closer.
They bought their own home in Manchester, and say their proudest moment was when they got the keys to the three-bedroomed house.

I bet the boy isn’t really the baby’s daddy - looking at the picture of him, there’s no way he’s gone through puberty yet, as opposed to the kid who was the father of the twins in the earlier post. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the babymama actually was messing around with another guy and just didn’t want to admit to cheating when she ended up pregnant.

Well more information is emerging on this, the parents knew and allowed the boy when he was 12 to share their daughters bed. Sick Sick Sick.
Mr Thomas, 20, who lives opposite the Stedmans, claimed today: ‘Chantelle is treated like an adult, allowed to do whatever she wants. She is not a young innocent girl who got pregnant with the first boy who came along.’
Another neighbour, who did not wish to be named, said: ‘The Stedmans let the kids run wild on the street until all hours, they have no control over them.’
