Good morning!
The weekend theme: TURMOIL...in the MidEast and among the Dems. One is extremely dangerous and consequential, and the other is at least entertaining to us conservatives
31-17. Utes had a 21-0 lead at the quarter.
Yes, lysie, this next 4 years is going to test our souls. The clintons were just child’s play compared to this demon. That’s probably why even hillary failed to defeat this monster.
Reid, a certified whimp.
I didn’t leave ONE off. I left ‘em ALL off except commenting that Bama lost. Somehow I’m just not as interested in the bowl games as I usually am. Funny that.
Bama was outplayed last night. And John Parker Wilson ought to punch those who were supposed to block for him right in the nose.
The only false note for me was the character & words of the church official played by Ian Richardson. That was a little too much and while likely such sermons, etc did occur during that war, I think his part was laid on a little too thickly to make him as unsympathetic as possible: Unncessarily so, IMO.
Here's mine:
AMERICA- The Right Way: Staying Vigilant(Dates)
Remember the WTC, Pentagon, & Flight 93
IOW, the title reflects our thread's position vis a vis the new situation in D.C, and I propose moving the 9/11 Tributes to the opening of the content post.
I'm very open to other suggestions, but have strong thoughts AGAINST the One's name in the title.
Indeed!
You are welcome. Good morning.
I am in complete agreement with you in regards to Ian Richardson's character. It is and was totally out of line of what the church teachings were at that time.
I can say this with much confidence as my great uncle "August Gerhard" was an army chaplain during that time. He served in France, and was a great friend of Sgt. Alvin York. He spoke about doing God's work in the trenches, and aided American and German soldiers that were either wounded or captured on the front lines. His job was to bring God to the soldiers albeit American, French, British, Scottish, or German forces.
My mother has a spent shell from World War 1. Touel, France. It was given to my great uncle by the French, and decorated handsomely.
I like your suggestion, Molly!
I like the “Staying Vigilant” a whole lot. I would not like to see the president’s name on our thread. He’s in our face too much as it is.
A side benefit is that this thread won't show up on liberal search engines trying to find anti-Obama titles to harass.
Thank you, thank you. I keep hearing of the rhino virus and it occurred to me that it fits many of our elected officials.
AND ALL.
Good morning, Happy New Year to one and all. I have a few spare mins this morning and thought i’d drop in and say “Peep” to youse guys.
Don’t want to beat the dead horse but I’ve been a bit busy of late so I really have just time to read a quick post here and there and off to finish “things”
We have been painting and fixing things in the house.
Christmas was delightful with the pixies. Zay was not half way through opening his gifts and quickly got bored with the overload. Mema just got him clothes because everyone else got him TOO many toys.
Son has moved out and my mom is upset with me over it. It had to happend sooner or later and at 26 y/o it is time he learned about living on his own. He just was not helping as much as he could have under the circumstances as well as making too many excuses about paying his rent.
Mom is doing so so as we have a few good days followed by more than a few bad days..namely keeping her heart rate/oxygen levels normal and fluid retention down...it is all a domino effect deal so i have to watch various things rather closely.
I think by this time next year we will be in an entirely different situation so I am steeling myself for that.
Hope everyone had a great holiday and we can survive the challenges ahead.
One of my favorite breakfasts, hashbrowns, eggs and bacon with a bisquit covered with butter and honey. mmmm good.
Good Morning Everyone. Beautiful day in central Texas.
I like your suggestion for a title. And staying positive, via the Staying Vigilant, rather than a HOSTAGE reference (which I will FEEL without anyone publicly stating it in a title) which seems to lean towards being negative.
When we visited CA in November, I was surprised, every night there was fog in certain areas. Now I know why the commercial vegetables are able to grow so well, with a little help from the watering systems.
Good Morning J. Preparing for another *^$#&Y Ice Storm in Iowa.
*whimpering*
AMERICA- The Right Way: Staying Vigilant(Dates)
Great! Could we add what/ why we are vigilant? Socialism? Gov't intrusion?
Help me out folks. You get my drift. ..refine suggestions a little.
After thinking about it. America-The Right Way IS why we are vigilant. I think I answered my own question.
Thanks, Molly! Great title!
