If you have the wherewithal and the time to commit to a congressional seat, go for it. You’ve been pretty active, but you’ll need to focus on what you bring to the table for your district. That’s what will win votes. Rahm is supposed to resign his seat later this week. Any idea how quickly you’d have to put a campaign together? That would need some serious thought.

Find out what Flanagan did and try to modify it for your needs.

The 5th takes in a lot of Hispanics areas - grass root those areas to death. in fact, make your headquarters in one of those towns (Schiller Park, Franklin Park etc )

Whoever the Rats nominate, I'd tie ‘em directly to Rahm and Blago - Like Obama did with Pres. Bush to McCain.

I would strongly recommend contacting Rep Marsha Blackburn-R/TN. Our politics (Memphis) are just as corrupt, we just have not hit the National spotlight in a while. But, Marsha had a snowball’s chance of getting elected, yet, her grassroots efforts paid off. She is in, and powerful! And, needless to say, you have a cornucopia of talents to be derived from Freepers, as well as our wallets.
