The New Year week is here. Wishing you all the best.
A quick Monday morning start for the week.
Please tell your friend about our thread. We always welcome new people. We have very few rules here EXCEPT Civility Rules this place.
We discuss and we disagree, but we do it with respect. (sort of like adults,,, eventho some of us have entered our second childhood)
Name calling and personal insults are not tolerated here. Those who refuse to follow the rules are expected to leave and go out there where they roll around in the dirt and fight with knives, eventho they agree on 99% of the issues.
I’m looking forward to meeting your friend, and having YOU join our conversations,,, just as soon as you have your crockpot soaked, cleaned and put away!!
Welcome to the thread SkyD and Iowan, it’s a great group of folks here.
Mozie, have a safe and good trip.
Thanks for the well-wishes on the possibility of another CD.
OH Yeah!
Flying commercial is tantamount to having a root canal without anesthetic .... the AMTRAK folks were super!!!! Food was great (dad had steak every night) ... OK, so we were thirteen hours late leaving Seattle and seven hours late leaving Chicago on the return - we had our own roomette so food was included in the price .... it was seventeen hundred dollars R/T for the three of us ....
If you’ve the time - go AMTRAK -

I have to figure out where the chat thread is so I don’t post on the news and other stuff ....
Welcome, SkyDancer. If you get lost, you can always go to the ‘PINGS’ icon at the top of the page. If you click there, you can find the thread you last posted on, and sort of follow the bread crumbs.
Welcome!!
We’re a chat thread, Sky.....
We talk about news, too, and other stuff.
Look forward to seeing you two again!
BLESSED ARE THE ONES GOD SENDS TO SHOW HIS LOVE FOR US.........OUR FRIENDS.

Welcome Iowan! Yes, bring your friend on over.
You have privacy, a bed and even (community) showers. I absolutely love dining in the dining car because you can watch the great American countryside roll by and often are seated with others and the conversations can be excellent. No matter where you are, diner, lounge car or roomette, the viewing is spectacular.
How are you feeling today?
I got up and drove to the courthouse to pay my property taxes. That was a big mistake. I have no business driving. But the taxes are paid.
We’re going tonight, but I don’t think I’ll be doing any dancing. Just sitting there breathing is enough of a challenge. I haven’t started packing yet; I need to.
But it is Dad’s birthday and he’s already paid for this event. I really don’t want to disappoint him.
Soooo, I’m going.
Tomorrow I’ll stay in bed.
Actually it wasn’t all that more expensive than flying. Seventeen hundred for three people in two roomettes. I had my own and mom and dad shared one. I left the upper bunk made up into the bed and kept the seats folded on the lower so I had plenty of room to kick back and the bed was always made so I didn’t have to run down the car attendant ... met some girls around my age and we congregated in my house (as the attendant called the roomettes) or out in the lounge car.
Met some new friends. The staff was great and very friendly. You wouldn’t get that from airline people. They couldn’t do enough for you - always wanting to get something or do something for you .....
I meant to ask, still enjoying your new monitor?
Overseas we have a flat screen, here we have an older clunky one. I resent the deskspace the clunky one needs. LOL!
So is this a new thread or is it just in the general area?
I just read a post on TOS, and it reminded me of something daughter does to clean out sinuses.....a Neti Pot.....Can buy them in most drugstores. One uses it to flush icky stuff away.
Hope you’re feeling better!
If you still have a sore throat, you might have strep....
;o/
I’m sure you’ve thought of that. Just can’t take the MOM out of me.
;o)
There are 2 threads each week. One thread for the weekend and another thread for the rest of the week.
I cannot remember who is keeping the ping list, but I’ve pinged lysie to this post, she will remember, or perhaps she’s the keeper of the list.
We’ll ask her to include you on the ping list.
OK thanks ... that’s better than trying to search for it ....
Thanks, I will have to wait until she gets off work, and then I will have her register. She has been on Freerepublic periodically as a “lurker” but she hasn’t signed up yet.
So, once she does, I will send her to this thread.
Thanks for the kind welcome.
