“But you’d think that Tyson would give the meat to charity.”
Then charities might buy less chicken, and the price might stay the same

I’ve been boycotting Tyson since he was exposed as a huge BJ Clinton contributor.

This is just painfully silly. Most of Tyson’s market is in frozen food. If they thought the price of chicken was too low all they’d need to do is sell less. You don’t go wasting half a million eggs to create scarcity, those things cost money to get that far, just leave stuff in the freezer.

buy your beef now. Beef is a substitute for chicken. If price goes up, people will switch to beef and drive that up.

I have raised my own for years.
Less than a $1 for the chicks, feed them for 8 weeks and process. You know what they were fed and how they were raised. No worry about hormones or chemicals. Best meat ever. Even sell some every now and then.

I stopped buying chicken from corporate ba*tards like Tyson the day I discovered Amish chicken.

Also, their baked goods are made with real sugar and lard, good stuff, as opposed to HFCS ( a synthetic molecule from a manufacture facility not unlike an oil refinery), and hydrog. (ie rancid ) fats.

Are you sure that's a possum? I don't see the characteristic tire tread marks on in.

Since when does Tyson or any other meat processing plant hatch and raise chickens?
To: KarlInOhio
Are you sure that's a possum? I don't see the characteristic tire tread marks on in. Full markings don't appear on young possums until they reach maturity. A good indicator of adulthood is increased mobility as they descend from the trees and explore areas beyond the roads that encompass their natural habitat.

Glad to meet another one (gee, I spelled that ‘meat’ at first. Freudian, huh?). I went vegan for health reasons almost a year ago. I have no regrets, especially after I learned about factory farms. Ewww.
My son thinks I’m a little weird, but since I’m the one doing the cooking, he’s been eating mostly vegan, has lost weight and now, even if I offer to make something special for him, he doesn’t want me to add the fattening cheese and meats he was used to. He’s getting to the age where guys can start to put on weight if they don’t watch it. Meanwhile, he looks youthful, still gets carded, and is slim and trim. Yeah, he still gets a McDonald’s meal sometimes, but whether he admits it or not, he’s mostly veg. Small yay! : )
