But you'd think that Tyson would give the meat to charity. No, I wouldn't. I forget how, now, for it's been so long, but the Clintons have a tie to that operation. JB Hunt trucking, too, if they're still in business.
To: Yosemitest
Pilgrims Pride just went into Bankruptcy, maybe Tyson cannot afford to raise the chickens just to give them away.
To: Yosemitest
I just bought a roast chicken from Kroger. $8.
May have to start raising them myself.

Why not give the chicks to other people to raise? (Assuming this story is true.)

This post pushes the bounds of slander. Does your “friend” work for a competitor of Tyson?

Because they might not buy TYSON’S chicken if they had their own. Oh, and Tyson owns the chicks and can do whatever they want with them.

Because that does not reduce supply. Therefore the price would not go up.
Oviously Tyson has run out of ways to increase demand at the price it wants.
This is like OPEC reducing output.

Used to know a man that supplied chickens to Tyson. He received hatchlings, grew them, then shipped them off. He was completely independent.

I never buy Tyson’s brand.
We have excellent local chicken here in PA.
(Hey, wasn’t this same rumor on here a year ago? Urban legend?)
