Official says positions will pay for themselves through class fees”

Whitfield County is looking for a few good fitness instructors.

SNIPPET: “The parks and recreation department wants to hire three part-time employees to teach exercise classes at the county gym on Gillespie Drive and the Varnell gym. The county pays the city of Varnell $10,000 a year in in-kind services to use the gym.

George Page, director of the county parks and recreation department, envisions the county hosting a wide range of programs for adults including aerobics, Tai Chi and yoga. But he said the department can’t move forward with the programs until he finds certified instructors to teach the classes.”

THE PUEBLO CHIEFTAIN

SNIPPET: “Vestas, the Danish-owned wind turbine company building a manufacturing plant near Pueblo, will hold a job fair March 14.

The company is building a large plant south of Pueblo to make the towers used to hold wind turbines. The plant is scheduled to open later this summer and will employ as many as 500 workers.

The March 14 career and information fair will be held at the Pueblo Convention Center at Fortino Grand Hall.

The session times are: 9 to 11 a.m., noon to 2 p.m., 3 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.”
