I have no way of knowing this for sure. But it is a BIG coinkydink that it happened RIGHT before an election.
It’s been around for about 30 years and falls flat just weeks outside of an election? With Democrats (the left) in complete control of it? Well, there was the “oversight” group of 200+ people that the Dems completely IGNORED.
Again, I’m not saying this is the case. But, c’mon...no one has the huevos to even raise the question?
I have heard “wait and see” from alot of folks.
So I was a little concerned before the election (still not certain that this country was so stupid as to vote someone named Hussein in 7 years after 9/11, but I see I was wrong). His talk of Civilian Army and such. But I was told “That’s just campaign talk”.
I was more concerned after the election and I heard “Let’s see what he does, maybe he’ll be good for the country”. Then he shows his lack of class with the Nancy Reagan remark, but hey, maybe he’s just a twerp, not actually evil as I feared.
Then he put up his agenda with the Civilian Army and servitude for our children. I was told “That’s just talk, he doesn’t really mean it. And even if does, maybe community service wouldn’t hurt some kids!”
He wants to make pump action shotguns illegal, rifles that shoot over 300 yards, etc... but he hasn’t taken any guns yet! He just WANTS to. He can’t really make this happen! Well, he basically has a super majority. And with the convenient “found” votes of two more Senators and McCain back in the Senate, he can do anything he wants at this point.
So forgive me if I’m done with “wait and see”. I’ve seen his INTENTIONS and that is enough for me to say “At what point do you fight to prevent this? When they are at your door?”
As frenzied as the homosexual movement is right now, if Hussein forced gay marraige federally right now, he would have an army of homosexuals willing to follow him anywhere. Even off a cliff.
Reminds me of putting cheese at the end of a maze.

Meet the Real Obama and Cult of Alinsky " The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun." (Ecclesiastes 1:9 KJV)
It is becoming readily apparent that the "change" being proposed vaguely by Sen. Barack Obama is nothing new. It is simply the old Marxism and socialism with a new twenty-first century multicultural face and a New Age twist created by Sixties radical Saul Alinsky and his fellow travelers that is effectively deceiving millions of dumbed-down and brainwashed young adults. Rudy Giuliani, former mayor of New York was being grilled on one of the Sunday morning television programs regarding the differences between Senators Obama and McCain. Giuliani insisted the Obama tax plan was motivated by his intentions to "redistribute wealth." On more than one occasion he mentioned the name of Sol Alinsky. That name jogged my memory. Long term readers of The Times Examiner will recall many articles regarding the deceptive and unethical "Delphi Technique" and the specialized application of the technique applied specifically to teachers called the " Alinsky Method."
In her 1991book Educating for the New World Order, Beverly K. Eakman describes the Delphi technique and Alinsky method in detail. The technique is used in situations where the "community organizer, change agent, advocate, agitator or facilitator" desiring to achieve change uses proven psychological techniques and deception to manipulate groups of people to agree to something they currently oppose. The technique works and the targets rarely, if ever, know they are being manipulated. If they suspect it, they don't know how, unless they are aware of the technique and how the organizer and facilitator uses it to manipulate unsuspecting individuals and groups. It has been used effectively on parents in the School District of Greenville County in the past with facilitators trained by a change agent from California. The technique is currently being used quietly by those preparing to implement UN Agenda 21 disguised as a long- term plan for Greenville County created by local citizens. The socialist and communist radicals of the 60s have had four decades to test their theories, infiltrate the American institutions of learning, media, religion, business and government and select the charismatic leaders they believe have the skills to deceive the voters of America and seize power without shedding their blood.
The technique used is called the "Alinsky Method," advocated, taught and documented by Saul Alinsky, author of the 1971 book called Rules for Radicals. In his book, Alinsky was critical of some Sixties radical leftists for scaring away potential converts in conservative communities. He taught that true revolutionaries do not flaunt their radicalism by creating open insurrection. Alinski taught his followers to "cut their hair, put on a suit and tie and infiltrate the system from within."
The David Horowitz and Richard Poe book, The Shadow Party: How George Soros, Hillary Clinton and Sixties Radicals Seized Control of the Democratic Party, traced the rise of Alinsky's political influence since the 1930s. They write that Alinsky excelled at wooing wealthy financiers to provide start-up funds for his Industrial Areas Foundation, a school for radical community organizers.
There is a mountain of evidence that George Soros, Hillary Clinton and the mother and maternal grandparents of Barack Obama were students of the Alinsky method of community organizing.
Richard Poe writes in The Turrish Weekly that Obama, who never met Alinsky in person, was "trained by Alinsky's Industrial Areas Foundation," and that " Obama spent years teaching workshops on the Alinsky method." Poe further states that Obama "In 1985 began a four-year stint as a community organizer in Chicago, working for an Alinskyite group called the Developing Communities Project. Later, he worked with Acorn and its offshoot Project Vote, both creations of the Alinsky network."
FOX News has reported that Acorn has been caught this summer involved in massive voter registration law violations in several states.
As early as 1945, Alinsky was able to influence government officials. Agnes Meyer, wife of the publisher of the Washington Post wrote a six-part series on Alinsky titled, The Orderly Revolution. It made Alinsky famous. President Truman reportedly ordered 100 reprints of the articles. Soon Alinsky was able to get his hands into the federal treasury.
During the turbulent anti-war Sixties Alinsky wielded enormous power behind the scenes. When President Johnson launched his War on Poverty in 1964, Alinsky followers infiltrated the program, steering federal money into Alinsky projects.
Alinsky wrote that he had an "understanding" with Attorney General Robert Kennedy, who supported Alinsky's Jackson style "shakedown" of Eastman Kodak in 1966.
Alinsky recruited a young high school student named Hillary Rodham. They met through a radical church group. Hillary wrote an analysis of "Alinsky Methods" for her thesis at Wellsley College, where, according to Richard Poe, "every professor was a Marxist at that time."
After graduating from Yale Law School in 1974, Hillary received a prestigious appointment to the House Judiciary Committee's Watergate investigation team on the recommendation of Marian Wright Edelman and her husband. Edelman happens to be a follower of Alinsky, having served on the Board of Trustees of Alinsky's Industrial Areas Foundation. Edelman has been termed by some as Hillary's "ideological soul mate." Hillary was friends with Alinsky until his death in 1972.
" Barack Obama is also an Alinskyite, trained by Alinsky's Industrial Areas Foundation," Poe writes, although Obama never met Alinsky personally. The Alinsky method of organizing is characterized by deception and camouflage. While trying to build coalitions of black churches in Chicago, Obama did not attend church.
His lack of church involvement negatively impacted his effectiveness. He found it necessary to become an instant churchgoer in order to infiltrate churches.
Poe states that the fact that both Senators Clinton and Obama share an Alinskyite background tells us two things: "They are leftists, dedicated to overthrowing our Constitutional system," and "They will go to any length to conceal their radicalism from the public." That is the Alinsky Method.

The left is very violent and vicious, and other Obama-friendly groups, such as the unions, have always been noted for their thuggish behavior. Most of all, though, the left controls the media, and has been very successful in demonizing conservatives. Once they have the power to really go at it, which they will get under Obama, we will be turned into enemies of the state and anyone who attacks us will feel they are actually doing something wonderful for America. While anti-Semitism had a long history in Germany, it was pretty quiescent at the time prior to the rise of Hitler. But Hitler was able to rev it up and use it by steadily portraying the Jews as conspirators and enemies of the state, particularly economic enemies. Conservatives are already portrayed that way, and it won’t take much more to make conservatives (particularly Christian conservatives) the kind of enemy of the state for whom no punishment is too horrible.
Germany was full of very learned and cultivated people, many of whom were quite happy to run the concentration camps when the time came, and had families, towns and cities full of nice, hard-working people who loved their kids, enjoyed strolling in the park - and turned out in droves to turn into a mob, pledge allegiance to their dictator and commit themselves to the eradication of those evil demons, the Jews.
Human nature is what it is, and the sociopathic dictator type personality knows how to exploit it, which is why we have had so many dictators. People never change and they never learn. And the protection we might have had from knowledge of our past and our principles has been systematically weakened by Ayers-type leftist “educators” over the years, aided by their friends in the popular media, and I don’t see any reason at all to think that we couldn’t meet the same fate as Germany or Russia.
I know. Even when it realized what a criminal he really was, he was still re-elected. We have been sliding into this incrementially, but now that long slide is over. We have arrived. I don’t believe all this talk about the next election, taking back some part of the Congress. It is over. America will never vote again to have its “rights” taken away, as the left cleverly has won that argument, false though it be, that we have rights to do what we want, be what we want, expect what we want...
Unfortunately, most will never see this. Most don’t know what happened. Most will go along with the media and the thugs who start deciding that certain people should be prosecuted for intolerance, earning a living and not supporting the street thugs enough, going to church, reading their Bibles, etc. There will be a few yelps at first, but then it will die down, everybody realizing that if they keep quiet, they just might not call attention to themselves.

This is a very sad thread. Reading through it I can see that many no longer are accusing tinfoil hat to people that have opened their eyes.
Just last year there were threads started by FReepers who were warning of just what is happening. One of those threads would get maybe 14 posts before someone would get on to excoriate those who could forsee what is happening.
Many of those FReepers have kind of quit posting, because I don’t see them around.
Just yesterday in one of my moments where it is quiet and I just take in what I have seen and heard, I became almost ill. I had to ask myself why everyone is almost numb to reacting to what is going on before our eyes. Maybe fear, denial, apathy? Maybe people are waiting for someone to charge in and make it right. Maybe it is too late.
So far, it looks like we are going to be dragged over a cliff and we are going to watch in wide eyed horror as it happens.
In the 1930s by the time many people realized it was time to get out, it was too late. I keep getting the feeling that it is “time to get out” but the US is the last refuge. Where do we “get out” to? Stay and fight? A few Germans fought. They are, at best, footnotes in the denser history books. Americans will not fight, not in any numbers and when the USA collapses into totalitarianism there will be no more history books, only fantasy articles about a fictional past.

The Democrats in Congress were SO infuriated that they did not have the COMPLETE control that is their birthright that they pitched a hissy fit and wouldn’t listen to reason in 2006 about Fannie/Freddie. They did not care what they had to do to get back into total power. Economic collapse just days before the election? A nice punishment for the people for not “listening to reason”. Just desserts in Democrat thinking.

These constant Nazi comparisons sound very foolish indeed. Is Obama dangerous? Yes. Is he likely to be a Hitler type figure as ten threads a day suggest? No. I see a zero percent chance that we end up with concentration camps under him for instance. Those who continue to push that line sound like those Bush=Hitler wingbats. In fact 95% of the time that Hitler is invoked in political discussion the person using his name comes out sounding foolish. Its an easy way to get people to stop paying attention to an otherwise good point.

100% true. Sadly some people are too tied up in paranoia to understand this. Obama is dangerous to the American way of life. That doesn’t mean we are facing a Hitler/Stalin type situtation. Heck even if he wanted to be Hitler, I think our system is way too strong to allow for it. Things like concentration camps and attacks on our neighboring nations are not going to happen.
Americans have taken the easy path. They have taken the path that someone else will provide for them. They get free stuff from the government with the promise that those who actually worked and earned the money in the first place, will be punished for working that hard. These fools lose sight that if more and more see they can get free stuff from the government, then there will be fewer and fewer of those evil rich working and earning this free money to give too them.
America is slowly REPEATING the errors and mistakes of countries in the past. As a result, freedom and liberty are the first victim. I truly believe that this country is in for a far worse time in the future than returning to the good. Little by little the Marxist's in the new US Politburo will take away liberty in small inserted sentences in some 10,000 page bloated bill. The future of liberty is bleak. We can place a ton of the blame at the feet of the republican party. They lost sight of the goal by moving left into RINOville.

That is what they thought in Germany at the time. It can , maybe not the exactthing, and probably happen here.
The people over here have and are still changing. The majority now prefere the false security of a slave than the responsibility freedom.
By the time the next election cycle comes the Democrat Party and its alies will have flooded all areas of the United Stats with a cadre that neither knows or cares about the heritiage and history of the United States or the Constitution. They will vote for who will give them most freebies.
It may take it a while to die but the United States of America committed suicide November 4, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. local time.
