Ok, a vanity about UFOs no less but....I'll lay it out as I saw it....
On Wednesday 10/15/08 at @ 17:35 I was on the SW corner of Northern Blvd. and 254 Street in Little Neck, Queens, NYC. Conditions were CAVU. My grandson, a friend (40s) and I watched two very small white objects remain motionless at avery high altitude. They were high enough for a commercial jet to pass well below them. At @ 17:52 they disappeared. They did not transit the sky, they just disappeared.
I used to see Lennon at an after hours club called TRAX on West 72nd and Columbus. It was downstairs behind a plain brown door. You either knew it was there or you didn’t.
Another, even simpler explanation which I can confirm personally being an amateur astronomer in NYC, is that the objects were two large sets of balloons catching the final rays of the setting sun. That youtube video from the “real UFO” website you linked to is very misleading, because all that dancing around of the objects is almost entirely due to the shaky hand of the person holding the camera. And the ‘three helicopters that appeared to be checking out the objects’ were probably news helicopters checking out the rush hour traffic or maybe some other event going on somewhere in NY.
But that’s an object that I can identify.
I have no idea what kind of editorial excess went into the video. I've never visited that site before. I state only that the light objects in the video are what I saw too.
I know what stars look like and I’ve never seen one in daylight...have you?
Actually it is possible to see stars during daylight hours,
I have read several accounts of pilots able to do just that.
German fighter pilots during the war used to practice this by finding various constellations during the day in order to sharpen their vision.

one of his posthumous albums. He stresses the “New”
in “New York” rather than the “York”, as British tend to do

UFO just means "Unidentified Flying Object". Besides, John "Imagine" Lennon was delusional in many respects.

I must still be half asleep! I do amateur astronomy from NYC. The object was VENUS. Venus is now once again an 'evening star'. It is extremely bright and can easily be seen with the naked eye before dark. Look towards the west again tonight around sunset. In fact, it will be a very bright evening object for many months to come. It gets furthest east from the Sun in Jan 2009 (apprx 45 degrees east). After that, it slowly begins to move west back towards the sun. When it gets really close to the sun on this return trip, with large binoculars or a telescope, you can even make out various crescent phases. It only does this when it's on the same side of the sun as earth. As it prepares to move between the sun and earth, it brings its dark side (side in temporary shadow) around towards us and we see less and less of the sunlit portion. Take a look tonight, assuming the skies are clear enough of course.

The orbs appear to be increasingly common for some reason.
And, there’s a report of a 3’ diameter opalescenet globe on a stretcher being loaded into an ambulance with various government cars around it which all then sped off to location unknown.
Whether ETs’ orbs or ‘our’ NWO folks surveillance orbs . . . they are reportedly for surveillance, observation. Though they’ve also been reported amidst the formation of crop-circles.
Venus? Geez. Did you even read what I wrote? There were two objects in the pre-evening SE sky. Venus is very bright and very much alone in the western sky.

It is the beginning of the Weathermen invasion ... the weather balloons are the test run.
Could it have been one (or more) of those NYPD surveillance choppers? How certain are you on the altitude? Keep in mind that many planes fly (relatively) low in the area as they are approaching the airports.
We see approaching aircraft at all hours and all altitudes when we go down to Long Beach (NY). These objects were nothing like anything I’ve seen before.
BTW,
you are finding out that quite a contingent on FR treat this topic as a great excuse
to trot out their fears, discomfort and insecurities about UFO’s ET’s and the unexplainable
in the form of dismissive derision, mocking and the like.
That’s why those of us on the UFO ping list tend to wear hazmat suits on such threads.
The stinking pile can get pretty deep.
Very certain about the altitude. Way above what NYPD has in it’s air fleet.
