Less than a month into the football season, the Idaho Vandals are undergoing another makeover after spectators complained that cheerleaders’ uniforms were flashing a little more than school spirit.

After the football team dumped the school logo from the buttocks of their new pants, the university in Moscow got complaints that new two-piece cheerleader uniforms were too skimpy.

“A number of fans were concerned that the uniforms were inappropriate,” said Bruce Pitman, dean of students. “To be fair, there were a number of fans who liked them.”

The outfits that drew controversy, halter tops and short black skirts with white trim, were similar to what an NFL cheerleader might wear, Pitman said.

“I’m not quite sure what will happen to them,” he said.

Yes, I have a teen daughter and I've had to tell her on occasion to change because she looks like a slut. She does change because she's a good kid. Girls today don't know they look slutty because it's in style to look slutty.

And no, she doesn't wear a burka nor would I want her to. There's still plenty of cute clothes out there that don't expose 9/10ths of your anatomy. BTW, my daughter happens to be very beautiful, and was nominated by a chapter of the Lambda Chi (sp?) as for the Sweetheart of Lambda Chi this year. Yup! Same one who suffered a TBI 2 yrs ago, nearly dying in a car accident, and has made a miraculous recovery thanks to all the prayer, many from FReepers! She's doing better than any of her doctors or even we ever expected! Thanks be to God. The nurses call her their miracle girl when she goes back to see them. She's getting on with her life and our family couldn't be happer or more greatful. I know some of you ask me periodically how she's doing. Thanks again for all your prayers.

She's loosened up a little bit on that the last few years. If you think about it what does it matter now? Forty years after the show ended people still enjoy watching it so they must have done something right.

True, but most of the LDS population in the state is in southern Idaho. The U of I in Moscow, where this story happened is closer to Spokane than to Salt Lake.

Oooooohhhh, those are still fightin' words in parts of the state. Boise State and the U of Idaho have a pretty fierce, albeit unheralded, rivalry. It's been fairly one-sided for the majority of the time, but it's quite heated. I've heard it compared to Tennessee and Vanderbilt, although I think that's rather unfounded.

I'm not married anymore. She brought home too many quarterbacks, halfbacks, outfielders, pitchers, centers, guards, and other assorted aging jocks. I figure I deserve at least one cheerleader for all of that.
