Man Proposes, Girlfriend Then Stabs Him
WLTX ^ | 09/23/08

A Pasco County woman was in jail Sunday charged with aggravated domestic battery.

Her live-in boyfriend called police to the couple's Castile Lane home during an argument Saturday evening. The victim, Bruce Montle, told sheriff's deputies the argument with Celeste Irene Lagrant, 39, started over a marriage proposal.

Montle told investigators that Lagrant slapped, punched and scratched at him. She also threw several knives at him, he said.

Lagrant was later released from jail.

I had a welfare client say to me once “she stabbed me in the back, why didn’t she just break my heart?”

Any bets on how long will it take for some idiot to ask her to marry him, even now?

Note that the article doesn't state who proposed to whom (including whether or not there was a third party involved), despite the headline.

She was upset he was giving her a diamond rock, not a crack cocaine rock.

So she didn’t want the usual day-and-a-half to think it over?

Now I have heard many times the saying, “Man proposes, God disposes.” But this is the first time I’ve heard, “Man Proposes, Girlfriend Then Stabs Him.”

Sounds like a proactive gal to me. I only dare remind my wife that we’ve been married once per year. It’s usually late at night on the anniversary date, and I only casually remind her of the occasion, which she usually forgets.

Unfortunately, this year she’s had some forewarning, and I have to build a damned greenhouse for her plants out back. I guess one has to reach out when you get to the 30th anniversary. I suspect she wants me to fall off the top of it when I’m putting on the roof. I wouldn’t blame her.

Why would you try to kill the guy proposing to you?!

As a single, available female who’s never had a boyfriend, this confuses me to no end.

She’s got that grey on the face look that indicates that she hasn’t seen soap and water in waaaayyyy too long a time.

Whatever possessed him to propose in the first place?

I’d ask what he looks like but I’m afraid to look at that picture.
