You don’t usually drive to Durham for lunch?
I’ve had lunch in Durham, but that wasn’t the reason I drove there.
Takes about eight hours. I’d need to pack a lunch.
Oh, well.
I’ve never driven from here to there. DP says it’s 2 hours, but he drives too fast no matter where he’s going.
A woman and a baby were in the doctor’s examining room, waiting for the doctor to come in for the baby’s first exam.
The doctor arrived, and examined the baby, checked his weight, saw it was a little low, and being a little concerned, asked if the baby was breast-fed or bottle- fed.
‘Breast-fed,’ she replied.
‘Well,... okay... we need to give you an examination. Strip down to your waist,’ the doctor ordered.
She did. In a detailed and professional examination, he pinched her nipples, pressed, kneaded, and rubbed both breasts for a while. He looked perplexed.
Motioning to her to get dressed, the doctor said, ‘No wonder this baby is underweight. You don’t have any milk.’
‘I know,’ she said, ‘I’m his Grandma, but I’m glad I came’
Hahahaha! Good one.
In other news, my daughter’s pomeranian went for an unscheduled swim in the backyard pond yesterday. He now smells like pond scum. The fish were not amused.
He’s getting on fine with the catz, though, after the initial juggling for position. When we go to bed at night he crawls under our bed and stays with us until Whitney gets home. The catz are on the bed, he’s under it. Everybody’s happy.
Silly dog.
Know anybody local who is just dying to adopt a sweet, reasonably well-mannered pomeranian?
Glad you liked it! Are you feeling better?
The critters sound as if they have settled into an uneasy truce.
Maybe the dog will grow on you. Or not.
I’m a bit better. I have a couple of “itis” things, sinus infection and bronchitis.
I’m on antibiotics and Mucinex, which makes me queasy. I felt tired and awful at work yesterday morning, so when I went for my morning Starbucks I asked for an extra shot. I figured if I’m going to feel lousy, I might as well be awake for it. (It worked - I made it through the rest of the day.)
The dog is growing on both of us. All he really needs is some stability and a few obedience lessons. Things like sit, stay, leave the cat food alone... you know, the basics.
I have an immunity to antibiotics, so I can’t take them. I use olive leaf extract instead. As long as I take maintenance doses, I’m OK. If I forget a day, I have to start all over again.
Maybe I’ll fix some coffee this morning and give myself an extra shot! I don’t have much to do, but I really don’t want to do any of it. I don’t want to go outside at all.
Poms are cute little guys. I’d love to have one, but I’ll have to get one at the shelter. Maybe, if I can swing the house I’ve been looking at, I’ll get a little dog. If nothing else, they are good for alarms. Or maybe I’ll get a goose....
This little guy is a great watch dog. He doesn’t bark excessively, just enough to let anybody at the door know a dog is here. He’s a perfect breed for a small house or apartment.
I think we’re going to end up taking care of him until we can find him a stable home. Whit’s been home less than a week, and so far I’ve been the one keeping him company and picking up the minefield he left in the backyard while she’s out with her boyfriend or at work.
He is a very affectionate, trusting animal who needs lots of human company. Frankly I wouldn’t mind keeping him. We’ll see.
Poms are very loving and very territorial.
They WILL sound the alarm!
I’m not a small dog person, but they are much easier to care for than the bigger breeds. I want something I can bathe in the kitchen sink!! LOL!
I’d prefer a larger breed, like a German Shepherd. That would tick off the catz!
He’s snoozing under my desk. If I get up, he’ll follow me. Since it’s laundry day, he’ll get lots of exercise following me up and down the stairs!
Well, at least he’ll sleep good tonight! LOL!
German shepherds are my favorite, then pit bulls, then huskies. But the place I’m looking at is not a big place and has a small yard, so a small dog would be best.
Huskies are great, too, that’s what my husband wants. But I’ve heard they eat catz.
The four-legged creatures are all sleeping... wish I was.
Time to switch loads...
They will eat catz if they are not trained. We had a huskie and a cat, and the cat thought the dog was his mom.
We had them both until they had to be put down. The dog had to go first, and the cat mourned for six months.
Quick, quick.. I need my head examined.
Had a little black kitty living in my bushes in my front lawn.
Spent 2 weeks seducing me.
I’ve been......Well you know.
How do I introduce a 13 lb cat to 157 lbs of dog.
He is really, really sweet.?
Catz are VERY theraputic!!
Invite him in...introduce him to the dogs S-L-O-W-L-Y!
Then fall in love!
Hello! I wasn’t feeling well this morning, so I lay around on the sofa. Then I went to work at the poll in Monroe. It rained.
Glad you’re better. I’m a little bit better too — but forgot to grab the cough syrup when I left shortly after 6 AM. Made it through my presentation on the 7 AM teleconference without coughing way too much, but it was still difficult.
Wish it would rain here. But looks like I won’t see any — and certainly won’t in LV. (Then again, once the conference starts I probably won’t set foot outside until it’s time to return home.)
