It is time to get things underway.
A very wet Texas is digging out from the damage left from Hurrican Ike. Ike is now over the northeast and is still a very wet storm. Best wishes and prayers to those in Ike's path. As far as I know, we are enjoying a reprieve from tropical storms at the moment.
The NYTs has put out at least 4 stories smearing Sarah Palin. Have they covered the Ayers-Obama relationship? Have they investigated as to whether Nobama is even eligible to run for President? I don't think so. In a non-related matter, stock in the NYTs is at an all-time lo.
Speaking of stock and financial problems, Lehman Brothers has declared bancruptcy and Merrill-Lynch is facing a probable buyout by Bank of America.
We cannot ignore the IRS problems that Rangel is having. Not reporting income from a vacation home seems to be tax-fraud. Is he still active in Congress? Is he a demoncRAT?
There is 49 days left until the national elections. We have some work to do.
Welcome back from the “big wind” kassie. It sounds awful.
Hello Everyone. Yesterday I was busier than a one-armed paper hanger, but I have almost everything done. Early this am, it was so nice and cool, I went out before the breeze woke up and sprayed a bunch of small woody plants growing where they weren’t supposed to be. We have some of the strangest looking vines...they don’t grow where I grew up. Then I woke up some fire ants. I didn’t see the bed, and stood right on top of it...I guess I didn’t “Over and Out” that place. It’s done now, though. Kill the boogers.
Take it easy, Jem. Sounds like you’re on the fringe of getting better, but not wholly out of the woods, yet.
lysie, if all that happened to my computer, it would be in the computer shop. bev and a lot of you are really up on this computer stuff.
bev, I personally think, there are people who leave center stage gracefully and then there are those who cannot get over the fact that they are no longer relavent. Bob Barr is such a case.
You sound very busy! I saw a letter about fire ants written into a magazine from someone in North Carolina. She sprinkled grits around fire ant areas and the grits expand in their stomachs and they explode. I Know how important Gulfcoast’s grit crop is for breakfast food, but wondered if he’d ever tried this.
I have never heard of fire ants here in Eastern Washington.
Toby...SEE #265!
What a riot!
Know Toby will love this, GrayNo.
;o)
You are very lucky. I thought I had the little boogers out of the yard...but somehow they came back. The Over and Out says they’ll be gone for a year, well... I never heard of fire ants until I came to Texas, we were lucky in our area until 1986 when we had some heavy rains and the Brazos river flooded into our 2 lower pastures. We’ve had them ever since. They eat anything protein. They’ve killed your animals, baby ground birds, they even killed one of my baby llamas. They are a terrible menace. I hope you never get them in Eastern Washington.
I picked a shopping bag full of plum tomatoes. They are now simmering on the stove for sauce.
Hello.
How was your trip?
Feeling okay, or shouldn’t you have gone?
Totally wiped out. It was a good thing I went. We had an uneventful trip down and we got to visit with some friends in addition to making our report. It was an uneventful trip back.
I just have no energy to do anything. I’ve been piddling all day long.
I’m thinking of you as you prep for the surgery tomorrow.
Hi L. Thanks! Catching up after being away all day.
Oh, kassie, you will be just fine. Follow Dr’s orders and it will go well.
Bev, I want to be ‘a few points behind’ according to the MSM going into Nov. 4. That will make it even more humiliating to the MSM when they keep having to report on election night and projecting McCain winning state after state with their gloomy faces, after thinking they had it in the bag with their massianiac (sic.) candidate.
Hi till. Yes, this is a very sad situation.
71% McCain 29% Obama - all states red in this straw poll
Interesting "straw poll" of our own today at mahjong...do remember Oregon is a blue state. Six of us were there today and all six of us are voting for McCain/Palin. Most people old enough to shave will not be voting for Obama. One of the gentlemen at our table said he had a little fun the other night...got a call asking him if he was going to vote for Obama and he said "sure" and they got all excited, asked him if he could volunteer...he told them he was in a wheel chair (he isn't) and they said "Well, you could just give us a donation". My friend said, "Now why do you need money from me? Every night on the TV I hear how many millions of dollars Obama is getting...what are you fellas doing with all that money?" They hung up on him..tee hee
Biden Is Out
The following is from a source that has been correct on wild rumors like this on 4 out of 7 occasions.
On or about October 5th, Biden will excuse himself from the ticket, citing health problems, and he will be replaced by Hillary. This is timed to occur after the VP debate on 10/2.
There have been talks all weekend about how to proceed with this information. Generally, the feeling is that we should all go ahead and get it out there to as many blog sites and personal email lists as is possible. I have already seen a few short blurbs about this. The health problem cited in those articles was an aneurysm. Probably many of you have heard the same rumblings.
However, at this point, with this information from the DNC, it looks like this Obama strategy will be a go. Therefore, it seems that the best strategy is to get out in front of thi s Obama maneuver, spell it out in detail, and thereby expose it for the grand manipulation that it is.
So, let's start mixing this one up and cut the Obamites off at the pass. Send this information out to as many people as you can and post it on every website and blog that you can access.
Editors Note: I've heard this from several sources. Biden is a loose cannon and an amazingly poor choice for VP. Hussein's hatred for Hillary will be trumped by his sponsor's (Soros and gang) rabid desire to hijack America.
What are you going to make with those simmering tomatoes?
I just wash and frees mine, then use them when the tomato season is over, ie, soup, stews, just plain tomatoes.
