America - The Right Way! (September 15 - 19, 2008)[Remember the WTC, the Pentagon & Flight 93]
Free Republic; variety of news sources, conservatives everywhere | 15 September, 2008 | Jemian and all Freepers

It is time to get things underway.

A very wet Texas is digging out from the damage left from Hurrican Ike. Ike is now over the northeast and is still a very wet storm. Best wishes and prayers to those in Ike's path. As far as I know, we are enjoying a reprieve from tropical storms at the moment.

The NYTs has put out at least 4 stories smearing Sarah Palin. Have they covered the Ayers-Obama relationship? Have they investigated as to whether Nobama is even eligible to run for President? I don't think so. In a non-related matter, stock in the NYTs is at an all-time lo.

Speaking of stock and financial problems, Lehman Brothers has declared bancruptcy and Merrill-Lynch is facing a probable buyout by Bank of America.

We cannot ignore the IRS problems that Rangel is having. Not reporting income from a vacation home seems to be tax-fraud. Is he still active in Congress? Is he a demoncRAT?

There is 49 days left until the national elections. We have some work to do.

It's funny you mention Nobama in connection with the Wall St. Waltz, because the IBD editorial today lays the entire mess at the feet of UOx42 for his monkeying with mortgage regulations to force lenders to take on high-risk mortgages or face stiff gov't. penalties.

And they say Nobama's world view is exactly the same ('social justice' thru regulations to force businesses to risk losses so more can play the game) except his implementation of it will cost more than The New Deal...

(((ATRW family)))

Thank you all so much for your prayers!! I can’t tell you how much it meant to us to know you were praying. :)

I’ve been through floods and tornadoes, but nothing meets this magnitude of destruction.

Having said that, we all slept through it. It hit here around 5:30AM with sustained winds lasting probably 45 minutes. I know this because my neighbor told me she’d never go through that again!! She said it was horrible, they heard every leaf, twig, limb, rock, and debris that the winds would pick up and throw into her house. She thought it would never stop and said she covered her head under pillows and blankets and could still hear it.

She said when it got light, she went to look and found shingles all over her yard . They weren’t her’s. Not sure if she ever found out where they came from.

We got our power back on this morning. Our entire neighborhood now has power. Thanks be to God!!! And great volunteers.

My freezer food is ruined. We were unable to find ice in time. I had extra ice made, but apparently our coolers aren’t as good as we thought they were. :( Ice melted in the first 36 hours. We thought our freezer would hold out as we just cleaned it a couple of weeks ago and the food lasted days - but not this time. The ice we’d put into it was not frozen clear through and melted too quickly. Son and I had great fun cleaning it out today. Thank goodness he has a good sense of humor!!

My washer died the day before Ike hit. In all the confusion, I never called a repairman, and now NONE of them in this area have power!!

My computer is totally out. Son thinks it is a bad hard drive, as after prolonged time of being turned off, it comes back without being able to be loaded. This will be the 3rd or 4th time I will be taking it in to have it “fixed”.

Our refrigerator/freezer was being used as an ice chest, due to our ice chest not working properly. I thought I was keeping up on the melting ice from the bags in the freezer but I didn’t and today my carpet is wet and I am hoping it’s from the ice melting in the top part of the refrigerator.

Our back fence is down. And that is all damage we sustained. Again thanks be to God !!!!!

In Katy most people were thoughtful and courteous. We all rallied and worked in yards to clear the limbs and leaves.Strangers offered help. We are lucky.

God blessed us with unseasonable mild to chilly weather. We’ve had our windows open since Sunday. Absolutely gorgeous weather out.

Well things keep looking up - repairman just called from his cell phone and said he was on his way. Yea!!

I am working on son’s computer, so my time here will be sporadic.

Thank you again for all your prayers and (((Jemian))) thank you so much for keeping in touch with us and relaying messages!!

God love you all.

Oh, my surgery is Friday at 7:30 AM for worn out ligaments. My foot has hurt for years. Feels like you are walking on sharp rocks. It got to the point I could hard get around, without being in pain. Then when I broke my toes a couple of weeks ago, I decided while I was sidelined with them, I might as well go ahead and have my surgery. It only takes a few minutes and healing time is 3-6 weeks. That’s not bad, and I don’t have to use crutches or be in a cast, so that is even better!!!

Your paragraphs came through to me. I am holding my own. I am so glad your damage was limited. It could have been much worse.

I will be back late tonight, I think. At this moment I have decided to go down to LA. I’ve decided that since there is nothing wrong with me, I’ll ignore the pain and quit being a baby. At least for the next 10 minutes. :)

Listening to KGO and heard "Sarah Palin's favoribility rates have dropped 16 points in two days".

What is going on? I am assuming this is a poll taken by liberals who are talking to only liberals.

Here’s the official Raven November analysis:

McCain will be up 4 points the week before election day. The libs will release their typical surprise with no time for McCain to respond and pick up 5 points.

Ohio and PA will be nail biters and we’ll have to wait 2 days for the official announcement.

>>”Sarah Palin’s favoribility rates have dropped 16 points in two days”.

Non stop propaganda has a way of doing that.

To bring you all up today on my continuing computer woes:

Dear Family and Friends...."she types with trembling fingers".... my computer ran absolutely perfectly for exactly 72 hours and then died....blue screen of death!!! and it would not recover as it has in the past. I thought I was going to have a heart attack!! After a normal day, as I was coming in the house, I returned Daughter-in-law Simmie's call - they have a new laptop with Vista as the operating system - we were discussing how to make new folders via that system or through IE. I touched my computer keyboard to wake it up from its afternoon sleep and..............nothing. DEAD! No sound...no nothing....zip, zero, nada! I checked all connections and finally, turned it off at the tower. When it came back up...it said "Windows can not open" and gave me the now DREADED blue screen of death.

By then, it was almost 9 p.m. and I was furious (to put it mildly). Unfortunately, all the English speaking people at DELL offices in TX, were at home...no doubt sitting in front of Dell computers that actually worked!!!! So, I called Dell Tech Support and was immediately connected to one of the little Hindu assassins. He was finally able to get past the error screen, had me set in motion the hard drive diagnostic tool and told me he would call me at 5 a.m. I couldn't sleep....

I tossed and turned all night...paced the floor and searched for my book on VOODOO. About 4:30 a.m. I looked at my computer screen to see that it had frozen in the midst of the SATA diagnostic run. I was NOT a happy person!

5 a.m. came and went, 6 a.m. came and went....no phone call from India! So, at 6:45 a.m.(in a blind rage) I called back to Dell tech support and said "Give me your supervisor!" When that person got on the line...I gave her my rap sheet number and told her I would need to speak to HER supervisor. Finally, about 7:45 a.m., I was able to speak with a person named Sura...who speaks accent free English, and is possibly a rocket scientist. She immediately determined my problem was a memory card. She had me unplug all the leads into the tower, take the cover off, take the memory boards out, replace the one at the time and SCHAZZAM!!! one of them is bad. Please keep in mind that the bad memory board is only 72 hours old. So, to make a long story short, I am using my computer with only one of the memory boards, but it is working just fine and I was SO happy to see I hadn't lost any of my data. And, a technician is being dispatched with a new memory card and equipment to run every test imaginable to make sure this new system NEVER has another problem. Oh yes, and I have an additional year warranty.,p. It is now 1:11 p.m. Andy, Charlie and I are going to have a late lunch and a long nap. I am exhausted :-)

It’s good to be back.

Our tv stations have returned. Not sure how that happened, but I’m not complaining!!

I’m watching NBC local station fly over Galveston Island by helicopter and people are calling in to tell them where to fly so they can see their homes. Soooooo sad...

It’s just horrible.
