It is time to get things underway.

A very wet Texas is digging out from the damage left from Hurrican Ike. Ike is now over the northeast and is still a very wet storm. Best wishes and prayers to those in Ike's path. As far as I know, we are enjoying a reprieve from tropical storms at the moment.

The NYTs has put out at least 4 stories smearing Sarah Palin. Have they covered the Ayers-Obama relationship? Have they investigated as to whether Nobama is even eligible to run for President? I don't think so. In a non-related matter, stock in the NYTs is at an all-time lo.

Speaking of stock and financial problems, Lehman Brothers has declared bancruptcy and Merrill-Lynch is facing a probable buyout by Bank of America.

We cannot ignore the IRS problems that Rangel is having. Not reporting income from a vacation home seems to be tax-fraud. Is he still active in Congress? Is he a demoncRAT?

There is 49 days left until the national elections. We have some work to do.

Low carb for life, here, too. We have a few carbs during Holidays and during sweet corn season. Yummy!!!! ;-)

I am here in and out, doing some gardening. I’m also trying cutting some glass for a stained glass project. I’m not very good at this.

Will you be soldering the glass?

Yes. I’ve been reading up and watching some videos on how to do it. We’ll see.

I’ve got several pieces cut and I’m going to sand the edges next. This is a small project. If it goes well, then I’ll move on to more ambitious things.

I’ve always wanted to do that.

Kassie just wrote that their local Kroger’s is FULLY STOCKED. Whew! Still no power, but food (and batteries) is almost as good.

Sounds like McC/Palin had a terrific rally today....while 0man is hobnobbing with Hollyweird types.

I watched the rally on an Ohio tv station stream. They were great. McCain was energized!

It was my pleasure. We’re a team, and I’m glad to help.

Hubby was just polled mostly about a local race. But while he was on the phone, it occurred to me, just to enliven the pollsters day, that perhaps I should run into the room, scream loudly at the top of my lungs, beg for forgiveness and understanding and for someone to “stop.” Then, clap two large pieces of wood together. Bang! Bang! After that, hubby should hang-up suddenly.

We’re giggling over that idea. OF COURSE, we won’t do it.

But it sure is fun imagining the reaction. /diabolical thoughts
