It is time to get things underway.
A very wet Texas is digging out from the damage left from Hurrican Ike. Ike is now over the northeast and is still a very wet storm. Best wishes and prayers to those in Ike's path. As far as I know, we are enjoying a reprieve from tropical storms at the moment.
The NYTs has put out at least 4 stories smearing Sarah Palin. Have they covered the Ayers-Obama relationship? Have they investigated as to whether Nobama is even eligible to run for President? I don't think so. In a non-related matter, stock in the NYTs is at an all-time lo.
Speaking of stock and financial problems, Lehman Brothers has declared bancruptcy and Merrill-Lynch is facing a probable buyout by Bank of America.
We cannot ignore the IRS problems that Rangel is having. Not reporting income from a vacation home seems to be tax-fraud. Is he still active in Congress? Is he a demoncRAT?
There is 49 days left until the national elections. We have some work to do.
>>JOHN MCCAIN IS COMING UP ON FOX AND FRIENDS AFTER THIS COMMERCIAL BREAK
He was terrible. Obviously he doesn’t have a built in compass like Reagan.
Well that makes sense. I don’t know about the concrete miles. There is interstate down to Montgomery but getting out to Leroy can be a little dicey. I haven’t been over there, though, since the 70s.
Good Morning Everyone.
Today is Mr IG and my 41st wedding anniversary. We are going to spend it attending a Seminar at the U of I Hospitals and Clinics learning how to deal with the issues surrounding Mr IG’s diabetic condition
See everyone tonite!
Dang! Had to put the dogs out again.
LOL
Joke. no offense
Congratulations on 41 years together.
Molly, see IG's post re: diabetes. Thanks. I believe you both have differnt cases, but still the same.
This is a big issue with me. Not in my family, but a dear, dear friend.
Earth to Jeffrey....those of Jill's ilk would turn on YOU in a heartbeat and crush you like a bug if they thought it would help further their cause.
Good morning all, checking in from the festival. Two days until the pro's start playing and there's been a lot of good jamming going on. It's been CHILLY the last two nights, thankfully our band cohorts have a plastic tent and space heater that afforded from protection from the damp chilliness or folks would've been hanging it up pretty early last night. As it was, I quit at 10 PM, glad to get into the warmth of the rig.
Weather is to be warmer now though, should help.
Happy Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Iowa Granny!
Happy Anniversary, M/M IG!
Celebrate any way you can.
;o)
Still no ower. So far NO ice anywhere in Katy. And NO "C" or "D" batteries anywhere. Thank you for your continued prayers.
No ice!!! That is real hardship.
ower = power
HAPPY 41ST ANNIVERSARY!
Also, give you all last nights "liberal rant". They want their messiah to nationalize the oil industry....dear Heavens!
Congratulations to you and Mr. IG for 41 blissful years together. May you have many more.
Hi IG, didn’t know your hubby had diabetes. Please don’t follow the American Diabetic Association diet. It will cause more problems in the long run.
Lots of research on the web regarding lower carb diets as better for diabetics.
Check out the Mary Vernon site. She is a doctor who deals with diabetics. Also Richard K. Bernstein, M.D.
good morning ALL!
HAPPY, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MR AND MRS IG!
Thanks for those references. Diabetes is the sword of Damocles over my head, too. I am convinced that low carb is the way to go, primarily because I feel bloated and draggy after eating carby foods.
There are some food I will always enjoy. Ice cream, spatzle, cakes, pies, celebratory foods will always be in the menu, but on a very very limited basis. By no means will they be a staple in the diet.
Anyway, thanks for those references. It makes a lot of sense to me.
