Bev, you and I are going to have to agree to disagree about the election. Obama is in my opinion much more able to lead the country away from the crap we're in, though it will certainly take several presidential cycles and perhaps generations, if at all.
Much untruth has circulated on the internet in the way of these scandalous emails.

Also, that bit about environmentalists being responsible for the price of gas - - It is the OIL companies who are responsible for the price of gas, and Mark my words - they are going to BUY the next election! The other thing responsible for the price of gas is having a war in a place where we get a lot of the gas from! this has helped restrict supply.
Drilling Alaska and California coast won't result in a drop of new gas at the pump for 10 years - and this according to the Bush administrations DOE!
Drilling where they weren't allowed to (and BTW, even McCain is against drilling in ANWAR - for now, watch him change that too) will result in oil that the oil companies can sell to Asia! What are you kidding me? You think they're going to sell it to you at a lower price?
When "they" say that it's the environmentalists fault that these areas hav3en't been drilled - you have to remember, that until just the last few months, McCain was one of them - opposing drilling in California and new drilling in Alaska.
Time to wake up - the world is running out of oil - the INCREASE in demand is exceeding the increase in supply. It's time to do something else besides drill the last remaining bit - might be nice to save some for when we really need it (and it's not now!)
This will preceed the large oil fields going dry (has has happened in Texas)
This whole business of running the government seems to be primarily aimed at enriching the oil companies and I have trouble believing that an intelligent person like you is going along with it!

Listening to Peter Robinson on Hewitt's show. He has it on good authority that Palin is writing her own speech for Wed. night. Robinson, Reagan's great speech writer, is amazed at Palin's speech/communication abilities.

Thirds, you didn’t have to go to moveon and kos to hear plenty of nasty stuff about the Palins. Have you read any of the threads right here on FR that pan the family, especially Sara, because Bristol is pg. Some of the FReepers have lost their flaming minds and the stuff is very ugly. Of course, these self-same FReepers are just as nasty about almost everything!
In fact, this afternoon I was listening to the end of Levine’s show with the sub and a woman called in with the same line used on the thread with over 1500 posts. I swear it was the same woman that posted because she spouted the same junk!

I find that I sometimes have to hold my breath when I go to snopes - particularly when it is about something political.
You need (and probably have) read ALL of the explanation as the entire “discussion” is the opinion of the writer. Many times when snopes says something is neither true nor false, but a little of each, the “discussion” leaves holes in the explanation.
Anyway, I take some of it with a grain of salt, but always read the entire page.
No, I don’t think she has been in the Army. You don’t wear the Blue Star Pin for yourself. I feel fairly certain that she wears her in honor of her eldest son Track who is currently in the Army and will deploy to the sandbox on September 11.
I wore mine while JT was in the Sandbox. Unfortunately, I left mine in Papua, else I would be wearing it now in my son’s honor.

Molly and lysie, thanks so much for the pings and your dedication to these threads. I don’t always post that gratitude as often as I should but I ALWAYS am grateful for your efforts in giving us all a place to gather here.
I happened to catch some of ABC’s and Georgie Poorgie Stephanopolous’s coverage of the RNC convention. The video showed certain attendees going into bars, and having discussions there with “big oil lobbyists”. They said the conversations were about “back-room, business-as-usual, power”. It was made to look smarmy, seedy and corrupt. Georgie’s knickers were in a knot and his implications disdainful.
As for Sarah Palin’s daughter’s pregnancy, perhaps it should be suggested to the media that Gov. and Mr. Palin could’ve taken the Kennedy approach and had their daughters lobotomized to prevent “unfortunate” circumstances from arising and embarrassing the family. (/ extreme sarcasm)
