What Would You Like to Hear At The Convention?
GOP Convention ^ | FReeplancer

Posted on 08/31/2008 11:53:46 AM PDT by freeplancer

Since President Bush spent no time at all defending himself (or conservatives) against leftist attacks on his character for the last eight years, I would like to hear some things said at the convention that need to be said. Do any of you have any such requests? Hopefully someone will read this and take some notes.

Here are my requests:

1) It is time to STOP the leftists from calling the Republicans the party of the rich. The Dems have taken that title as they have big-business billionaires and celebrity millionaires arranging funding for their campaigns, websites, travels, publishings, parties, litigations, and God knows what else. In fact, they have reporters arrested for trying to investigate who is behind their financing (ABC producer in Denver).

2) It is time for someone with some balls to speak at the convention and explain exactly what partial-birth abortion is and who supports it. Let the Dems argue the fetus/baby issue all they want, but most people don't have a clue what a partial birth abortion is and if they did, they would be sick.

3) Homosexuals make up less than 1% of our population and they should be represented accordingly. And, you are not going to let that small of a minority and their mouthpieces try to destroy great American traditions such as marriages and the definition of families.

4) Christmas is a great tradition and holiday, and it makes people happy so leave it the hell alone.

KEYWORDS: rebuplican; rncconvention
I just wish the conservatives were as proud to stand for what is right, as the leftists are to stand for what is wrong.

Harp on Obama’s inexperience every time the MSM talks about Palin’s inexperience ... one idiot MSM reporter said Obama was more qualified because he’s been running for the presidency for three years .... (right, and Palin has been a mayor and a governor for three) ....

An indictment against the Democrat party for fomenting anarchy and treason against the United States of America.

"Mr. Obama, Harry Reid, Ted Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi ... you're under arrest"

I would like to hear:

1. McCain outline freemarket plans for addressing the favorite issues of the dems (e.g. healthcare, healthcare insurance, education etc.).

2. McCain announce a “Man on the Moon” type commitment to become energy independent and develop alternative fuels. As opposed to non-specific Obama comments/promises on this issue I would like McCain and Palin to lay out specifics.

3. McCain state that our strength and survival as a nation depends on our ability and commitment to remain the leader of the world in innovation, and that as such he is instituting a national effort to reward the best students in science and engineering and encourage more American students to follow that career path.

Wow, I completely forgot about illegal immigration. I hope we hear that the “50 million people in America that don’t have health insurance” means that 30 million of those are illegal aliens. Notice how they don’t say 50 million Americans? Good point to you sir.

If you come into our country, do it legally. If not, don't expect a free ride unless it's back across the Mexican Border.

I totally agree with you but I would add one thing:

Drill offshore!

State in a clear voice that the role of FEMA was never mandated to be pro-active, evacuation and sheltering has always been the pur·view of local elected officials. FEMA was to be used after a disaster to deliver assistance at the behest of the states governor. W’s role in the Katrina debaucle was never adequately defended.

This from someone who made it though Rita, 3 weeks after Katrina. But then we all either evacuated or made sure we could survive for a while without services, just as we had done through Bonnie and Alicia, etc. etc. etc. Don’t get me wrong, we were very grateful for the Red Cross hot meals and ice when we could get it, but it was not a matter of life or death in SE Texas. (but then we’ve had better political management than LA)

I would like to hear John McCain renounce his earlier positions and pledge to restore federal government to within its Constitutional limits.

I honestly wish that both the Presidential Debates and the Vice Presidential Debates would also include everybody else who successfully makes it onto the ballot in ALL FIFTY STATES, and being successful with getting onto the ballot in all fifty states would be what’s used to truly determine who is and who isn’t included in such debates. More people would probably watch and/or listen to the debates, and more issues would probably be brought to the “debate table”, if all of the Presidential/Vice Presidential candidates, who truly succeed in getting onto all fifty states, were included. Such debates would also truly be better if they weren’t always controlled by leftist all of the time. Leftist would also be included, but conservatives, moderates, libertarians, greens, truly apolitical individuals, and all other possibilities could also take turns in both moderating the debates and in being panelists for all of the debates from now on. It’s truly silly to always have a debate format where only leftists control everything and where only the Democratic and Republican candidates for President and Vice President are the ones who are invited all of the time. All of these things have been requested by many people for a long time, and they still are not being done at all. I would love to see Rush Limbaugh, Thomas Sowell, Michael Savage, Walter Williams, and many other conservatives, along with many other people of a variety of political ideologies, ask debate questions of all of the candidates for President/Vice President every now and then!

The GOP is PRO-immigration...

illegal aliens are ANTI-immigration

and the GOP president will make sure that immigration law is enforced

and the illegal aliens are deported...

Just one firebranding, hair raising conservative speech. I want someone taking names and defining oratory with something more memorable than a teleprompter and makeup.
