Good morning!
The Dems' Crazy Convention gets underway. How much of it can you stand to watch? I need a volunteer to watch my share...let me think of some inticement for this huge sacrifice...
Fay - the Storm which Won't go Away - continues its tour of the South.
I listened to most of the harrang from Thee one who decended with arms waving and all teeth showing. He does have pearly white teeth.
Every democrat who tells the sheeple they will make funds available for a college education....I wonder....if everyone goes to college will the colleges teach plumbing, electrical work, how to be a butcher, road patching, cabinet making, home construction (how to use a hammer and saw)? I know it sounds great, but...The university lobbyists love to hear those words...means more money in their pockets, more money for the universities, more tuition fees to the students and families...more money from the guvmit...more money out of our pockets. Then Thee one would lower payments to those with insurance payments...provide health care to the less fortunate (heavens, the less fortunate do have health care..medicade..or the emergency room). I chuckled about every child receiving the BEST education...and when he and Ayers were in charge of Gameleil funds for better education they used those funds for self-esteem courses and foreign languages. ($110 million spent on these “better education” courses, but non on reedin, ritin, or rithmetic.
Thank you lysie, breakfast pizza and coffee.
HELP!!! Is there a way to read what my Dell warranty covers? I should be able to find it somewhere in my compter, right? I am soooooo computer challenged :-(
The "people from India" have just really screwed up my computer and now they want to use a recovery disc and start over. I do NOT want to do that unless absolutely necessary! I have an external hard drive and all my data is saved, I just don't want to go through the hassle!!!!
LB - I think Palin is a brilliant move by McCain. She’s conservative, she’s - A WOMAN - she’s admired for her service, she’s young, vibrant, a hockey mom, raising a child with disabilities. I LOVE IT!
I honestly thought MCC would go with the expected choice, MRomney.
If there is criticism about her short service, The Messiah has less.
I honestly care very little about the VP slot. Most don’t vote for the VP, but this just adds a physcological advantage and exceitement to the GOP campaign. LOVIN IT!
I also think McCain’s “congratulatory” adv to OBAMA was a master stroke. Genius physcological advantage.
In the days to come, The Messiah’s rheteric will be trashed as unattainable, and McCain will rise further in the public consiousness. I predict it.
I have no idea who will win, but our guy is certainly playing his cards well.
:::
I won’t be posting more today - FR’s servers are obviously overloaded, and I don’t have the patience for it.
Bev, I have had several Dells
If you call their service number(should be on your computer cover somewhere). They will ask you the number (also stamped somewhere on BACK of computer & they can tell you
I found Dell very good for help/repairs. I know everyone has not had that same good luck however
Awaiting Palin???? announcemet
Man FR is SLOW
My problem is the out sourcing people took over my screen and downloaded the wrong upgrade to the video card. Now they can’t get it out of the system or can they load the right one. Apparently, they did something to my operating system. This computer is only 6 months old and I am not a happy camper this morning!
And in 8 years, should McCain win, we will be left with a female incumbent. I'm not saying that's bad, but I have to wonder if she'd be a) willing to run and b) able to pull off what Hillary Clinton couldn't.
Maybe having a willing incumbent is simply going out of vogue in the GOP, who knows?
Ah, well. The die is cast. First we'll see and then we'll know. At least conservatism can feel a bit more validated with this choice.
I too am having inconsistent internet responses from FR today. Will probably sign off for now and que up for what Rush has to say about the pick.
;-)
Good news. JT, you know, is at AIT at Ft. Sill for training with his changed MOS. Tuesday he took the PT test to see if he qualified for Airborne and/or Rangers. HE DID! HE QUALIFIED FOR BOTH!
WOW! I am liking what I hear from Gov Palin!! Can I just vote for her!!??!?!?!? LOL!!
Long time no post here, I know, but just had to come on today and say, for the first time this election season I am feeling like I want to vote. Still have my issues with the top of the R ticket, but, could never, ever vote for that Obamanation.
I've been meaning to email you for ages, & wiil do that certainly.
Life has given me some new challenges lately...and I know you have a busy life too.
Yes, Palin is awesome! So likeable but bright, and a great speaker. Down to earth and a great personal story. She is a real crowd please, and I can tell you as one of the worker bees in the party, this choice will make a difference!!
Sarah brings a smile to my face. Of course she’s a fellow Alaskan, just across the river from my Aunt.
I liked her mentioning the two women who ran for VP in the past. I also liked her saying “Hillary put 18 cracks in the glass ceiling, and women of America vote for me and we’ll shatter that glass.” I’ve read quite a bit about her and of course my relatives in my Home town love her and like her gutsyness. And of course, her son is leaving for Iraq in 13 days. I think she did gave a very good speech, BUT, though she wore an American flag on her lapel, I didn’t see an Alaskan on. Oh well. I’ll send her mine.
How are you feeling? Jem. BP down?
Oh Jem, he will be hog heaven in either. Airborne is tough and the Rangers are tougher. I have a little buddy, who is a Ranger. I know whichever JT chooses he will love it. He’ll be able to shoot, throw handgrenades and break things. LOL...just kidding. I know he’ll do well.
Hugs to you, Molly! I have been bad at keeping up with you - it’s been topsy-turvy in my household too.
I’m glad to know you think Palin’s a good choice too. She could be just the energy the R’s need. I had never heard her speak before but had heard her name mentioned early on as a possible choice.
He will be in hog heaven. I talked with him a few minutes ago ~ I think I said that. Anyway, he's been a little distracted with me being in the hospital. At least he listened to me though and hasn't made any preparation to come visit.
BP is back in normal ranges. I have a slight fever still. However they just took away my fluids. That means I'll have to start drinking my own water. I just don't want to do that. The orders are already written for me to be discharged. I'm just don't know if I want to do that.
FWIW, back to the Olympics. If Auburn University was a country unto themselves, we would have come in 13th in the medal contention.
till, I completely agree!! I was smiling too!! And that line about “shattering the glass ceiling” was FANTASTIC! I was cheering!! Good for her!! And dare I say it, Good for America!!
Gee..I wonder if they will allow me.
