Apple has begun airing another new "Get a Mac" ad, "Off The Air," on U.S. network and cable television.
In the ad, "PC" is confronted by "Mac" and a Mac Genius who explain that dumping a Windows PC and switching to a Mac is easier than ever since when you buy a Mac, the Apple Store Mac Genius will transfer your files from your old PC to your new Mac for free.
At this point, Apple makes one of their most brutally honest points ever, as "PC" responds:
Oh, no, no, no, no... My frustrated users don't need to hear about that. See, fear of switching is the foundation of customer loyalty for PCs.
"PC" then rolls down a fake color bar chart over the camera and makes a continuous "beep" noise as he takes the spot "Off The Air."
MacDailyNews Take: Bill Gates "PC" loves badly faked things. Poor simulations are his life.

Ack! Seriously, much, much better now. It's vastly more stable thanks to UNIX underneath instead of that antiquated architecture, but still easy to get used to even for this long-time Windows user. It also plays much better with others.
Speaking as someone who owns an iPhone - yes. It really is that much better. Having the REAL web at your fingertips is both an invaluable tool for busines and for smacking down some liberal in a conversation.
My iPhone has *made* me money, and its ease of use has impressed people at my main client so much that people are deliberately killing their PocketPC/WinMobile and Palm phones in order to get them replaced with iPhones. One guy was in my office this morning; a die hard Treo user, the only one we have left in the company, who’d swore up and down that he would never ever ever give up his Treo. Well, he lost a sale to a guy with an iPhone, who was able to *quickly* look up inventory stats, commodity prices, and update his presentation WHILE HE WAS GIVING IT.
The iPhone isn’t a toy. It’s the device that *finally* fulfills the promise of the PDA or the palmtop computer. Being able to quote, in realtime, costs to a customer, Google for suppliers or locations, and generally do everything that you used to have to haul out a laptop and erect a cell card antenna for (because your smartphone wouldn’t cut it) is worth MONEY.
People have cut back on luxuries, reduced spending elsewhere, but are buying what you think is a “toy?” Chances are pretty good that it’s not a toy then, isn’t it?
System 8.0 bears only the most superficial resemblance to 10.5. And under the hood, it’s totally different.
It’s basically a high-end UNIX operating system with a nice GUI on it... but what a GUI!
8.X and the code base that ended with 9.2.2 were basically like Win3.X - bad old executions, long gone.
Also, as for the apps - there’s eBay Mobile, there’s different weather apps, there’s a number of great online banking apps, there’s a large and growing number of actual productive apps for the iPhone.
eBay Mobile is my personal favorite. That one app makes the iPhone *the* killer platform for eBay.
Definitely not me. I’m deaf so I don’t spend much time on music forums.
Fair enough, but for people who actually do enjoy music and taking photos and home videos, Mac has the best applications for those users.
My advice to everyone who is frustrated with the crappy quality of the Windows apps - and Windows in general - is to get a Mac.
I have two Intel Mac’s. I run OSX, Linux and Win XP. One thing, Boot Camp will only allow for one other operating system. To run three, you need to do a manual command to divide the partitions.
I like the symbolism ! The PC guy in an outdated suit pushing M$. BTW, they guy has a good resemblance to Bill Gates. Meanwhile the Apple pair (BTW, the girl is cute) are up to speed - dressing casually.
