Good morning!

The non-partisan National Tax Policy Center has examined Obama's economic plans for us and predicts they would add 3.4 trillion dollars to the national debt. Not exactly fiscal responsibility is it?

The Russian/Georgian war moves into its second, dangerous week.

In those times our parents didn’t have the worry of something happening to us when we roamed. Today.....? Besides I’ve heard more children are watching tv or playing with their computers. Don’t know for sure, as I have no younguns.

Oh, you have touched a hot button with me! This starting school on August 11 (which is when my grandkids went back) is just plain nuts! A lot of the inner city schools aren't air-conditioned and none of the school buses are!

This all started in Indiana back in the 70's. First the universtities changed their semesters so that fall semester ended before Christmas and spring semester ended in May. Then the public schools changed because teachers who took summer college classes needed to have their schedules coincide. Then they moved the day to start even earlier because of getting kids ready for the ISTEP (Indiana testing) which is given in the fall.

Then the State Fair changed its running time so that the 4-H kids could exhibit before school started. And once the State Fair moved up, the county fairs had to as well, so that the county fairs now are in late July or the first week of August.

Which is now why it is impossible to grow tomatoes for show at the Johnson County Fair!

Plus, if they have to lengthen the school year, I don't understand why they don't start after Labor Day but run through early June instead. June is not nearly as hot as August.

End of rant.

I am glad to see there is some bit of sanity left in our schools.

Oy Vey! I've been on the road more today than the last month combined. That's it for driving for the rest of the month. My Forerunner EATS gas.

I did manage to get the take-out boxes for meals and salads, and some 16 and 32 oz storage containers and some 2oz soufflé cups at the restaurant supply store. I love going there, but my wallet hates it. ;)

Boy oh boy, I have been one sick fella and the last of the family to get it, what ever it was, D put me to bed in the ‘big house’ and made sure I stayed in bed. I am still weak as can be and you should see me trying to type. Think I will take off for now and try to eat some chicken soup (kind in a can, not one of my ‘girls’ Will try tomorrow to get back on course.

What do you say we organize some grass roots anti-Obama campaigns in each state?

Put the goats up for the old frenchman. Had to coerce a bale of hay to give me a few flakes. Old habits come back quickly. And it's raining. I had to leave the Escoffier book in the frenchman's shop, to keep from getting it soaked.

I just keep getting more and more countrified. I'll be a hick by year's end.

Hillary! is making her move. The DNC just announced that her name will be on the roll call on the first roll call, along with Barack Obama’s name. This is for party unity. Right...something doesn’t smell right.

They will do a lot, except for give up. She's not counted out until she's been in a grave for a decade. Otherwise, she's a player.

I will print a few and post at supermarkets and other stores with areas to tack things up.

What do YOU do with a few flakes of hay?

Me? I could give them to the chickens. Other than that I have no idea.

The mangers were out of hay for the goats.

May be a language thing going on. Mangers=eaterie boxes on the wall for goats, sheep, cows, etc... en francais. When I'm over the fence, there's a lot of espanol and francais going on. Sometimes conflagrated, much to everyones disturbance.
